Just an idea. This can be a "show off your guitar playing" thread.
I'm also making it because I want somewhere to consistently post guitar videos, instead of having to make a new thread each time.
Here, I was bored and wanted to play something moderately chill. This is on my metal guitar, which is in drop A#.

Finally picked up a mic. This church I work for has a Shure SM58 microphone. It's not good for recording, but it's better than running direct. Borrowed a M-Audio FastTrack recording interface from a friend, and recorded into Audacity (I'm broke, haha).
Anyway, this is all electric guitar. Tuning is Drop A#.
The levels and tones are all awful in this recording, but it was just a quick sketch idea of what I'd like to do branching off of what I recorded in the video (see first post). I'm going to be listening to this a lot so I can figure out how I should shape my tones different for my text take at recording. I've already determined the gain on my pedal tones is too strong for recording.

Just a couple of computer-end fixes and changes. Pay attention from 1:23 on for changes.
Compare to the original. What changes do you like? What, dynamically, may come out better next time?

Changes made:
Clean lead line changes: Added delay from the beginning of the build onward to thicken up the atmosphere a bit.
Crunch line changes: Slight EQ (less low, a tiny bit more mid to make the crunch smoother)
Mid-line: Fade in, lowered level, added delay (now it's not like the kool-aid man busting through your living room wall and scaring the crap out of everyone)
High "flutter" line: Added delay and reverb, lowered level
High "crescendo" line: Added delay and reverb, lowered level. Now it's there but it's not cracking the buffer like mad. Still crackles in a couple spots, but not as bad. Working on a fix.
About the fret buzz: My 1st and 18th frets buzz on my Dean. No idea why. Can't afford to take it in right now.

Third take.
Made edits to the clean line to give it a bit more atmospheric feel.
Haven't made changes to the distorted lines or anything after the build.

I've started working on my Christmas project today, just kinda doodling around. As is typical, I'll be doing a popular song (Carol of the Bells) but trying to change it up by adding in elements that I have not found in any other version.
Here is just a rough sketch outlining a couple elements I'd like to include. The video is not meant to represent how it will actually be in the end.

I know it sounds absolutely atrocious right now, but this is a very quick sketch of some ideas I'm hoping to incorporate into the song. All raw recording. Zero edits.

Thought of a new concept, and captured it in a video. Just something I'm hoping to incorporate into a future project.

Started sketching out the new concept (see previous video).
Here's a little teaser. Pardon the obscenely poor recording quality.

Extended the teaser clip of what I'm starting to sketch out so it'll make a little more sense (context, context, context).

Finally recorded another song. Quality is crap, but for now it's at least something.
Almost titled it "Hey Dad", but my better judgment told me not to.

I finally finished a thing. I mean, it only took me 2 1/2 years...
