Hi guys, another semester of senior school art and this time it's mixed media. I've chosen to sketch my item of choice before scanning it and digitally edit it in Photoshop which includes colours w/ abstract lighting. This is only a progression .jpeg and i still have a lot to complete but It's not due for another 5 weeks or so and i would like some feedback because this is the first time I have done this sort of thing. Thank you.

And after an hour of adding detail. I made the skin look a bit too 3D so I had to start fixing everything else up as well.

Couldn't give you any constructive, well-put criticism (seeing as this is not my field) but the face does look off to me. But hey, if this is your first time doing something of this sort, I think it's not bad at all :) great job for the rest.

If I were you, the first thing I'd remove from that is the lens flare. If you're doing digital art of that style, you're best off introducing lighting through other means (ie your colouring), not just putting the default filter through. It's a beginner's thing to do and I don't know why people do it (or why I did it for that matter), but the sooner you grow out of the habit of using them, the better. Your shading is okay, just be sure to mix in those tones by adding a bigger variety of shades.

Oh, and if you haven't done already, I'd suggest utilising layers a lot. It's a lot easier to erase a mistake or edit something if you can simply erase a layer and redo it rather than tracking back to the start.
