Oi~ first, let me say that I respect emo people, and I do like a few emo songs... but I need to say this:

personally, I have an incredible attraction to EDM/electronic music (speaking of House music, DnB, Dubstep, Hardstyle, UK Hardcore, etc.) and yeah I like many other genres but listen to less.. but overall, music is my life!

Concerning my clothing style, well... I somehow got into emo style clothing and found them quite attracting. I enjoy seeing stripes, checks, skulls, lightning bolts, stars, stuff like that on clothes, and I've usually always preferred the color black or blue/purple than any other. (sry if I'm sounding stereotypical, its just most things that I see online when concerning emo clothing, and I like seeing those types of designs on them.)

Even with cartoons (I absolutely love animation) I love anime, and shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show, some of the old 90s toons, and shows like Invader Zim, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and online cartoons like Emily Strange. some shows I've found interest in the chars with the darker clothes and/or the "don't care" personalities (if the show provides these kinds of chars) (ex. - Raven from Teen Titans, Mandy from The Grim Adventures, Gwen from the Total Drama series).

More than anything, I love drawing and used to write a lot when I was younger!

I'd hate to call myself a poser, but then again I'm not even sure if that's the case. I sometimes annoy myself just using labels, cuz I know and agree that labels are pointless, but sometimes I just want to know or have some inspiration from a certain style (emo in this case, if not scene...).

anyway, opinions on all of this? do you think I sound like a poser or I mean what kind of stereotype would I be close to? (again, not trying to be exactly like a 'stereotype', but I'm inspired by the clothing style of emo's/scene's -- I know they're dif; but heck if I know what I'm more similar to)...

Just because you're not all into the Emo genre/metal/whatever you want to call it doesn't mean you are a poser, I have a lot of alternative friends who have a broad taste in music. They may criticise a lot of the mainstream music but there are the one or two odd songs that they enjoy and appreciate, they also listen to a lot of techno, J-pop, rock and even classical. Don't let what you listen to define who you are no matter what others say.

Lol you're over thinking it just like anyone that is below the age of 18.

Just do you and you're good to go.  Don't focus on whether or not youre a poser or not because there's really no such thing.

Do what you like.  Dress the way you wanna dress and in whatever you think looks good and be yourself.  Don't try to be anything you're not or mold yourself into something you're not.

Once you grow up a bit, get out of high school, and get past the age of 18 you realize that none of that bullshit really matters anyway.  In the end you just gotta be yourself instead of trying to be something youre not - and don't worry about it so much.

haha well I'm actually 20 and not in high school but I could see why you would think that...

I at least like to try new things -- so far I am enjoying a few "stereotypical" emo stuff, and for how I think it looks on me.

thx for your input though~ :)
