I'm surprised Kane is doing so well.

I voted other, none of the proposed members particularly interest me, apart from Erin, but everyone knows everything about her anyway.
I'd also like to take this oppurtunity to volunteer to be in the next vote, please and thank you.

Is it just me, or are people more interested in voting for the next featured member than they are in the current one?

Cheesecake, you're in the list already. :3 You'll be up in about 2 or 3 weeks.
Though if this poll is rigged, there won't be any more, we'll probably be using a PM voting system instead.
Be warned, heh.

no, they always are.
it's very telling of how people live their lives. Never content with anything you have, always looking for the next quick fix.

Indeed. It raises the level of ass suckage for the featured member to astronomical levels.

not much i can do to change the asshattery of people, temp. sorry
I've asked, specifically, for them to show a certain level of interest and involvement in the current featured member.... but nobody seems to give a shit about getting involved. People just want to pull out their alts and vote. It's fucking stupid.
Not to mention pretty depressing because people were bitching and moaning about how boring shit was here, so a few of the mods worked at giving the community something interesting to take part in. And i KNOW some of them really put time and effort into making this happen;it didn't just pull itself out of thin air.
Instead, people bitch about the selection presented... but what the fuck difference does the selection make if you don't pay any attention to whose selected anyway?
So guys, i'm going to ask again: please, for fuck's sake, get as involved with the featured member as you do with voting for them. Otherwise, this thing WILL crash and burn. And when you show an interest in other people, when your turn comes -- and it will -- they'll reciprocate.

It isn't your fault. I'm not looking for a scapegoat.
And its EC, did you really think they could appreciate nice things?
Also, I am vehemently for the idea of a PM voting system. Any threads created like "who did u vote 4 omg" would be locked.

I voted 'other'.
I haven't seen posts from him, but he's on every list so he must be a popular and likeable chap.

I thought that the selection was meant to be random and it was only the first week of this that would be a voted member?
I come and go on this site because every now and then I have a week where I have nothing planned so I do something internet related to occupy my time and if something interesting catches me on EC I'm stuck on here for a week. A couple of weeks ago I had a few days of nothing to do so popped on EC thinking that I'd have a look at the member of the week. It was the first day and it was already about 5 pages long and by the time I had finished reading 2 or 3 pages I found myself thinking "Hmmm noone has asked this question so I will ask it" for me to find out someone has asked it on the next page. Also, by the time I got to the end of page 5 two more pages had appeared. Since there was nothing else interesting on EC I decided I'd just spend a couple of days on facebook and msn.
My point is that if you don't get involved in this from the very start then you're going to find that your questions will have been answered or that there are so many pages of questions and answers that you really don't have the time or energy to read through it all. Also the 100 or so other members might not like or don't really have any particular interest in the member of the week.

I know that, but wouldn't you feel terrible if you deprived me of my feeling of achievement?
