No parent ever wants to hear that their child is gay.
That is probably one of the last things your parent would ever want to hear from you.
Telling your parents that you're gay can be a scary thing. Trust me, i know from experience.
People worry that their parents might kick them out of the house for being gay or never speak to them again.
I'd suggest not telling your parents til you are in a relationship with someone you love and when you arent living at home.
I'll be very blunt here, there is no perfect time to tell your parents. No such thing as the perfect time.
Tho, i wouldnt suggest telling them when they're mad. That would probably be the wrong time to do it.
The best way to be open with them about it is to sit them down, talk calmly and to share everything with them, dont leave anything out.
If you cant tell you parents then you obviously dont have a close relationships with them but who knows, maybe if you tell them and be completely honest with them, your relationship might get stronger.

If you tell them and they have a problem with it then theres nothing you can do about it.
Over time they probably will adapt to it and accept you for who you are because for christ sake, you're their child.
Parents should love their children no matter what, its their own flesh and blood.

Feel free to add anything to what i have written or to correct me about anything.
You can also share your coming out stories if you wish.

they should, but they don't.
parents aren't perfect, and they aren't always going to love you no matter what.
and sometimes time doesn't do shit.

coming out is different for everyone.
there is no right way to do it.
it all depends on the certain persons situation.
I believe only you yourself can figure out when its best to come out.

Just cause someones parent is gay doesn't mean that the persons parents will be okay with it. Maybe the parents would want a different life for their child and doesn't want their child to be teased and such.
There are lots of different reasons why gay parents don't want their children being gay.

True, but i'm sure some feel the opposite, just hte same as straight parents, so it's really a moot point on my behalf

Some might yes but it doesn't neccessarily mean all gay parents want their children to end up being gay like themselves.
It depends on the situation I guess. If the child only wants to be gay because their parents are then that's one of the reasons why their parents wouldn't want em to be.

I don't believe that it's last thing they'd want you to tell them. The last thing a parents wants to hear from their child is "I Hate you." I would know, i've said that a couple of times and my mother and father were hurt.

I know that for me, the worst thing that I can tell my parents at this age is that I'm pregnant.

Nope, nothing worse.
I already came out to my parents, they're fine with it.
I mean, you're eventually let out of jail(usually)...addiction to drugs can be treated...
Though I'm not against it (I am pro-choice), I personally just couldn't get an abortion, unless I was raped.
So yeah, preggers is the worst thing. My mom said she'd kill me (though of course she wouldn't actually kill me, but she'd be pissed enough to)...

Oh no wait, I'm sorry, scratch that.
The worst thing that I can tell them is that I'm christian. That'd just break their heart...

I'm just could never convince myself that mythology is true.
Really, you guys have a talent.

And yes, seriously. I actually brought up the idea with my dad. I'd tell you what he said, but I wouldn't want to offend you. :-]
