There once was a girl who looked slightly pale.
One day she was taken to look at the whales.
When she got to the Zoo, her heart started to fail,
for the mammals looked like prisoners locked up in jails.

She ran to the tank without a delay
A porpoise raised it's head, and started to say:
"please kill me...it will be better than this horrible life"
And she felt sympathetic, so she took out her knife.

She attemped right then to slit the creature's wrists
But, to her surprize, they didn't exist.
But she wouldn't give up, so she stabbed it instead,
and she started to weep as she watched as it bled.

Then quickly creatures lined up in a row,
And waited until it was their turn to go,
Swimming a sea stained crimson with blood,
Their cares washed away in the incarnadine flood.

The tortoise came next, and a sea urchin too,
Their poor little lives were soon to be through.
But soon she found one that she couldn't impale.
In a gigantic tank swam a giant blue whale.

"Help me", he wailed as he swam in agony
"Girl, you've restored my faith in humanity"
But there was no way to help him that she could see
He said, solemnly, "All I want is to be free".

So she pondered a while on what she could do,
A small crack in the tank offered a clue.
A guard yelled out, "Halt! You are breaking the law!"
She had to act quickly to exploit this flaw.

The guards could not believe a single thing they saw,
And they all stood around, just staring in awe!
The girl broke a hole right through the tank
And the men were washed away, as the water level sank.

And on the whale's back, the girl rode away.
The flood pushed them on, out into the bay.
And they both watched the sunset, as they sailed upon the waves,
And the girl lamented those who she'd sent to their graves.

And they sang a song of sorrow, as they crossed the ocean blue,
For the dolphin, the tortoise, and sea urchin too.
"Wherever you've gone, I hope you swim free,
Far away from the horrors of humanity."
