Oh man, heated front seats sounds amazing :o Especially if they are leather. My Dad has a car with leather seats and I used to haaaaaate it in winter. You could feel the cold even through a thick jacket

What. Dude, you live in fucking Australia, what do you need thick jackets for? :o

So I just Facebook checked everyone who got into the same school as I. 60 students, 31 girls and 28 boys (and one student not named on the list). Not too bad, I figured it'd be like 40 to 20.

But, as I expected, they're all such nerds  Well, at least I'll be around smart people. Hopefully.

Amen to that, I Facebook stalk people all the time, mostly to see if they are hot or if their display picture is all myspace angle trickery.

I swear to God being a private eye these days would be a piece of cake. Facebook/the internet in general makes it too easy.

Oh yeah, me too. That's basically all Facebook's good for. That and Fb chat.

So true. One Google search and you can find out so much about someone. Even better if you can see their info on Facebook.

I'm surrounded by mountains, so there is always snow on the tops of those in the winter. It may sometime snow where I am, but it'll melt by 10 or 11 am.

Oh, I am ridiculously tired.

So much walking and gah. Got some shopping done today, yeays. Bought another gorgeous lip stain, in red. I'm in love with it. <3 Bought another copy of 'The Secret Garden' because I lost the one I had when I was a kid, and I miss reading it. Managed to get more books, and clothes and resisted buying some brogues - despite desperately wanting them. They were a tan brown with laces and a cute floral print on the inside, though I doubt I'd ever suit them. :( I can't find anything to wear for my a baby birthday party, gah, and my room's a tip because I decided to lose my glasses. Sigh.

I also managed to get my feedback for my assignments, and my tutors said my essays were great. Yeaah B) Got high marks for my German essay, but my media tutor can't make her mind up if she prefers a colon or a full stop when referencing page numbers. FUUCK YOU.

I'm going to ignore the world though, for now, and just relax with a tuna melt spicy panini, a summer fruits oasis and watch The Eyes of The Mummy. yeaaay.

Since this all I'm hearing on the news is how suddenly "something has to be done about underage drinking" and how appallingly easy it is for teenagers to get alcohol and blah blah... I mean it's not like the whole country has known for years now that like half of the country's 15 to 17 year olds regularly get drunk at the weekends. I doubt there was much more underage drinking at that Swedish house Mafia concert than at any other concert aimed at a younger audience. Obviously the country's strategy for reducing underage drinking isn't working. I think something like Germany's system would be much better, where 16 and 17 year olds can buy beer and wine but not spirits. Because then at least it's regulated and controlled and younger teens can go out to pubs etc with their friends and drink in a relaxed atmosphere, instead of passing around a bottle of vodka at house parties etc. Underage drinking is such a problem because there really is nothing for 16-17 year olds to (legally) do at night, the underage discos really only cater for 14-15 year olds. And while there is some drinking among that age group, I'd say it's definitely a minority, where I would think around half of 17 year olds drink.
/rant

Really? I hadn't heard much about the under-age drinking myself, all I'd heard was more about all of the stabbings and people absolutely off their head on pills. A friend of mine works in the ambulance services and she said it was a LOT worse than anything she'd seen over the course of any other music festival, concert, etc. it's never really like that in Europe... it's really just an Irish society problem :( the German system works well but I think it's more so a problem with our entire culture and how we treat alcohol.

If I may butt in, I think the German system is great in that it could reduce very heavy drinking and make it into a more casual every day thing. But the thing is, any alcohol is dangerous and bad for teenagers. That's what the age restrictions are for. The way I see it, if Finland had that system, 16 year olds would start their evening in a bar, get a couple of beers, and continue at home or outdoors with a shitload of booze.

In my area, the drinking starts often at the age of 13 and continues frequently all throughout the teen years, and there seems to be no solution to this.

the German system works well

I think the German system is great

Is it? Underage drinking is rising exponentially and binge drinking is especially popular amongst teenagers.

I hate hormones, I feel like whether you're being sarcastic or not, I just don't have the energy to answer that. Maybe Jess will deal with it for me. Would be better in any case since I'm fucking terrified of Germans.

How can you be terrified of Germans?! Excluding Algernon, because he scares me too. But they're so yum and the accent, it's like delicious.

This is all mainly because we had a language teacher who was German. Oh my. Okay, he was a bit older, but still >_>

but dem russians, phwoar.

I hope Alex doesn't see this, but I'm currently eating apples and whipped cream with peanut butter. It's so good. God damnit, I'm such a genius.

Terrified of me? But I'm a sweet, shy, sensitive, innocent boy!

I have nothing to comment on that earlier statement, but, er I wholeheartedly doubt that. :L

You see, that's what I call a racist joke. I actually really like Germans, I have German friends and I obsessed over Tokio Hotel when I was 11, but Algernon is terrifying and I was trying to get out of the situation.

Oh, sidenote: Germans don't really have an accent when speaking Finnish. Creepy shit.

I don't mind Russians. The women are often stylish (usually slutty but let's not get into that) and the men don't bother you because they're on vacation with their family. The only bad thing is that all the grocery stores in Helsinki area have to stay open all the fucking time thanks to the Russian tourists.

You had me panicked there, I thought I said something racist haha. I'm not going to lie, when I saw Tokio Hotel I was disappointed, and thought if Germans are like that I'd cry. Haha woops. Well, it's all out there now.

Really? I thought it'd be more pronounced! I actually like your accent, how creepy of me to say, but it's very cool.

Yeah, they're usually annoyingly gorgeous, swoon. It's good though, right? I mean tourism is always a great boost. I mean with the Olympics in London, it'll boom.

When I saw Tokio Hotel for the first time, I wanted to book the first flight to Germany, but to be fair, I've always had a thing for girly looking guys. (not sure if that needs to be said out loud) I still swoon over them, I don't think my taste in men has changed since birth.

Haha thanks

Oh yeah well the Olympics is kind of a bigger deal than fucking cheap ferries to Kauppatori. Must be awesome! When I was little, I asked my mom when would we be hosting the Olympics and she looked at me and said 'Never. Never again.' We did have the European sportschampionblahblahdon'treallyfollow just now, gotta love Helsinki full of hot Portugese athletes.
