For those of you who missed it, here's a link to the story and audio recording. Now, don't get me wrong, I love movies in general and I'm a big fan of Bale's work, but this only serves to support my theory that actors are filth. All of them. It's jut a sad side effect of the profession.

God, I've got to send this link over to the VAC and Gearslutz forums...there's got to be a few electronic artists who could sample the hell out of this and make it into a pretty kickass song.

I dig his movies, but goddamn, that was quite the temper tantrum.

"Do you understand my mind is not IN the scene if you're doing that?" DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT UNIVERSES COLLAPSE IF MY MIND IS NOT IN THE SCENE?!!! I get that he takes an intense approach to his 'craft', but fuck off man, the dude walked into your scene - how many scenes have had to be reshot because of his own mistakes, I wonder? Over-reacting and threats don't help anything, he just comes off as unprofessional and melodramatic.

Someone needs to punch him in his batcave.

Well I want to see the best in this, I want to say that maybe this is was a really stressful day where everything went wrong and he just snapped, cos it happens to us all... but I dunno.... I wish I could believe that.... but I just can't.

Damn, I thought he was the last cool actor, upto Downy Jr. to retake the crown I guess.

for me, it's not the fact that he kinda lost it with the DP, because as you say everyone has shitty days... It's the length of the rant that's disturbing. Having an outburst of emotion is one thing: "Hey, what the fuck man, get the fuck out of here, you fucking idiot.... FUCK... okay, let's get on with it".

Carrying that outburst on for 4 minutes, yelling and demoralizing the other guy while the other guy is trying to apologize is pretty fucked up and unprofessional.

It's like if a doctor's in surgery and the nurse hands him the wrong instrument, costing him a few seconds, rather than just saying "no, that's wrong" and getting on with it, however frustrated they might be and dealing with it civilly later (Or in this case, Bale telling the director to handle this shit rather than diving off the deep-end himself) - the doctor proceeds to scream at the nurse for the next 5 minutes. It's messed up. Except Bale's job is nowhere near as important as a surgeon, regardless of how awesome American Psycho might have been (and it was).

Exactly I mean ok, I tend to rant alot, but I at least do it in the privacy of my own home alone, you don't just explode at someone for an accident like that.

Yeah, there's a difference between ripping into to somebody for making a simple mistake and completely losing your shit. Admittedly, I love a good trainwreck Big Grin.gif

^Agreed. It's why I follow any celebrity gossip at all. I'm just hoping for wrecks. It's terrible, but true.

Which leads me to something I've been pretty pissed off about lately... rockstars just don't know how to fucking party anymore. Nobody's doing their bodyweight in heroin or snorting coke off of a hooker's ass anymore. Hell, you don't even hear about bands getting alcohol poisoning anymore!

Instead, there are bands like the Jonas brothers, lauded for their celibacy vows, and Miley Cyrus showing a bit of skin. What's this world coming to? I want my rockstars stoned and drunk and horny, dammit! "Party like a rockstar" should MEAN something.

I forgot who coined the phrase "the pussification of rock", but he was pretty close to the truth. Doug Stanhope nailed it though:

^that's hilarious laugh.gif Never heard that clip before. He says the words my heart feels biggrin.gif

edit: "Half faggots" lawl

edit2: I really dig when people smoke on stage or in movies. It sends a little jolt of happiness through me. REAL cigs though, not fake ones that they don't exhale. That's a pet peeve of mine... actors that are playing characters that smoke, they inhale... but never exhale. What in the fuck kind of super lungs do you have? These little rants have left me wanting, going to go light up - brb.

Is it really bad I'm 22 and completely agree with what this guy is saying?

Ok ok admittedly because I was doing drugs off of girls titties at 13 (man my mum threw the best house parties.... sad thing about that.... I'm not even joking) I have somewhat of a leg up on people. But jesus, I see guys my age now and they don't do half the shit I do:
"I won't make smart ass comments incase I get hit."
"I won't use cheesy lines incase I get rejected."
"I won't drink alcohol incase I get drunk."
"I won't do drugs incase I get high."
"I can't get piercings because my parents don't approve."
That last one irks me, its like, what the fuck happened to this world, did like rebellion just pack up and leave when it was done with my generation?

Hell half of these faggots don't even know what a real fight is they think getting hit once is a fight, never mind whacking someone across the head with a pool cue.

Also the myspace thing, I have totally had that happen to me.
"You're flirting with my Girl, I'm gonna block you."
"Well maybe if you could actually entertain her and make her feel good about herself I wouldn't have to flirt."
(again sadly true story).

I don't know if this is their work, but I saw this posted on another forum:

Damn, someone bet me to the punch...but fuck! That's a catchy tune. And when Streisand enters the mix, it goes from awesome to unbefuckinglievable. Ah, even in his worst moments Bale still entertains the hell out of me.

@ Rellik

Admittedly, I didn't get into my wilder days until I got to college...but when I got there, I made up for the last decade I spent missing out on everything. My 96 hour Fear-and-Loathing-esque cannonball run across Texas was the peak of it all (well...that and New Orleans...god I love New Orleans). But I think there's a lot to be said for having your mind and body stretched to that limit. Fuck this shit about sitting around and writing poetry or playing "nonconformist" inside your own head; instead, get out and see exactly what it means to walk on the edge. You'll be surprised at how much you'll learn about yourself.

Let's be bffs.

I got most of my craziness out of my system through highschool and the first two years of university. My mind doesn't feel the need to be that wild anymore because I know what I'll get out of it (though sometimes I'm sorely tempted laugh.gif), and my body just won't LET me party that hard anymore laugh.gif

I'm really curious though - there isn't THAT much of a generational gap between ours and those slightly younger. Why the massive pussy-ness? I think it's because they never had to use dial-up on a regular basis, personally.

Ha! Dial-up will drive a person to do hard drugs (I remember waiting five godforsaken hours just get the Quake 3 Arena demo).

I blame the parents for this group of kids. I think most of them grow up never having had to make important decisions that truly effect their live. All the decisions are made for them...but for some reason these kids don't have the balls to say "fuck that" and really rebel. I hate to seem like a broken record, but this talk about "wild days" reminds me of another Stanhope bit (one with which I completely agree):

See this is why I waited for the demo disc to become available, all I used Dial Up for was Doom/Descent co-op.... 24.5k Modem for the win.

I don't blame the parents, the parents are the same as they have always been, what I blame actually is the rise in self pity. Its the generation of "whats the point, we're failures." Where as were more the generation of "out parents know we're fuck ups already.... shit is that libertating to know.

I also think that I only really had one friend my age growing up, the rest of my friends we're in their 20's, so by the time I got friends my own age (about college), they were getting excited about getting shit faced every night, I just wanted to drop some micradots and sit in the corner of the pub laughing my ass off and talking random bollocks. These days I'm 22 and I hate going out to the pub, I mean I really fucking hate it. I can't stand the pub and I can't stand the people in their and they all just want to do the same thing over and over and over and its mind numbing, I'd rather save my money as Stanhope said just get really fucked up one night, I properly, so fucked up I can't remember what the fuck happens for the next week and I'd rather do that every couple of months (and still have more stories to tell) then my friends who do the same shit week in week out, because they are too scared to walk up to that new club and go in.

Lol, classy.

Bale was a great Batman, too bad Ledger was a mediocre Joker... best so far of live action actors... but I have yet to see a decent Joker outside of the cartoon series.

Really? I thought Ledger was pretty awesome biggrin.gif Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to ask for a constellation to be named after him because his death suddenly revealed to me that he was the greatest actor in the whole universe or anything. But I thought he was pretty good. He really sold 'psycho' to me, y'know? Though I've got to admit, I'm an easy sale because I generally like Heath Ledger. I like the diversity of roles he's played, and played well.

Well don't get me wrong his performance was absolutely amazing, its just, as I've said I am yet to see a good live action Joker, there is always something not quite set right with them, be it they are too campy, too over the top or too sinister, writers are yet to find that right balance between sociopathic tendancies, delusion of grandeur and a pure evil sense of humour.

But this is me being the comic geek.
