"Whatever," Lucie grumbled, turning away from the slide with disinterest. She sighed, as though she had never been so bored in her entire life, and glanced at her two friends. "What do you two say to skipping getting drunk today?" she suggested.
"What?" Makoto asked, certain he had heard wrong. Getting drunk was Lucie's favourite pass time.
Lucie shrugged. "I'm just sayin'...Let's do something more original. You know that hospital nearby here?" She lowered her voice. "I bet that kid escaped from there...People are always escaping from there and coming here."
"And, now we have an excuse to go there, and try to get a look at that lot who escaped years ago. When you were still in nappies, Makoto...They'll probably give us something for returning the kid, too."
It felt strange being out of isolation, and as Kitsune made his way down to the rec room, his nose still bandaged from the punch he had received a week earlier, he couldn't help feeling that the atmosphere in the hospital had changed slightly. He put it to the back of his mind when he saw Drew, and hurried to sit next to him. "S'up," he muttered, giving Drew a mischievous smile. "How was isolation? I found it dismal at most...But then I kept remembering how everyone else got punished as well, and it became amusing again." He glanced briefly over at Lightning, ignoring the others completely as they arrived and sat down.
Shou floated in next, taking the seat between Xavier and Lightning. If any of them hadn't known the staff better, they would have assumed Shou had gotten away without being punished; he sat smiling and humming to himself, rocking his legs backwards and forwards, and scanning the room to see if Katana had been let out yet. His eyes lit up momentarily as Eve entered the room, then dropped to the floor in slight disappointment.
One of the last to enter was a man with long black hair, and a slight stubble on his chin. He must have only been there a few days, since he hadn't been there when the others had been put in isolation, but he looked like he had been there years. He kept his eyes to the floor, apart from giving Jase one, furious glare before sitting directly across from him.
"Hana," Kitsune whispered, his mischievous smile evaporating into a look of concern. But he had no time to wonder what the hell had happened to his friend, or why he was back here, for at that moment, another unexpected face arrived.
The head doctor swarmed into the room, followed by his nephew, who had vanished off the face of the earth after just one morning of work. The boy had a different look in his eye today, but it was undoubtedly him.
"I'll leave them to you, Kagami," the head doctor grunted, before turning to leave.
'Kagami' nodded slowly, and took a seat near the door. "Last time, there was a bit of a distraction," he began, his eyes drifting from Krista, to Lightning. His voice was far stronger than before, and there was a much more confident air about him. "So I've been advised to send anyone who acts out of line straight to isolation. If you are unhappy with that arrangement, feel free to take yourself to isolation right now."
Natsume looked up from his drawing, and hastily covered it with his hands when he saw Rachel. He gave her a slight, tired smile, and nodded once. In truth, he wasn't really in the mood for games, but he couldn't avoid playing forever.
