The section is quite dead. Nothing has been posted in there for quite some time. The art and photography section as a whole seems to be swallowed up at the moment by all of the poetry and prose, and I don't like this. I'd like to be able to show off some of our talent here. 

So please post links to threads that you think should be placed in the "Best Art" section. 
You CAN submit your own work to be put in the section. I don't mind. Just please don't make multiple posts about yourself. Keep it to just the one, or two if you post some new work you really think should be in there.  

It CAN be photoshop work. 
It CAN be things you've submitted in past contests. 


If you are posting the work of someone else and do not have a link to the thread they made, please be sure to CREDIT THEM. Plagiarism will NOT be tolerated. Anyone found to be infringing on copyright will be, at the very least, warned for it officially, and possibly banned or suspended. 

With the nasty bit over, let's get to showing me some of what EC has got!

I think those are very good pieces of art, but I don't think they're like the OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT IS FUCKING ART.
Though I think if you picked up a few skill levels, you could quite easily create the OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT IS FUCKING ART.

I honestly think it was not the best idea to merge the art/photography section with the poems since there are a hell lot of poems created in one day and all the art and photography topics get pushed onto the next page within a few hours unless you get heaps of people posting in them.

I agree with her. As a visual artist primarily, I feel comfortable speaking for all of that we find ourselves drowned in post-emo prose whene\v\r we click the initial link.
It's Godawful how many people completely baffle all logic with regard to lingual aesthetics in this section. It literally gives me panic attacks sometimes.
I think this is a good solution for the issue I was expressing frustration with in my most recent thread.
What are viable alternatives?
We could just have mods ban all gamers and give the games section to the photoshoppers/artists/musicians actually posting music. Which is an art. Not saying that Poetry isn't.
Or maybe someone has a better idea?

^Will bring this up in the next feedback thread, and will take action following that accordingly. It's something I wanted to try out - personally, I'm not seeing much difference one way or another. So what if there's a lot of crappy poetry floating around? Nobody seems to have any interest in visual art at this point (or even when it was its own section) to warrant it being its own section =/ There's bare-minimum involvement in the art contests (IF that), and only a handful of threads every month.

Honestly, the art is pushed back because no one[most people] bothers to look at it or care about it. You can't really make a bunch of kids on this site excited about artwork, so there's not much you can do.

I think a lot of the artists feel like there is no way to even tell for sure if nobody cares or not.

Agreed. Art and poems honestly should of been kept seperate even if it was just to try it out. Yeah so posting art isn't that popular on here but still even when art is posted, it doesn't stay in view long enough for people to view it because the poems overun this section (obviously) and then you have to go through pages just to find art topics.

Great suggestion, see the way it's marked with an asterix before the art tag? That means it's being considered for the best section. I don't want to move anything right away because it won't get as much immediate attention in the best section, I also want to see what kind of reception it gets before I think about moving it. Suggestions in this thread will hugely affect my decision too, so make sure to post here if you see some artwork you love in the section.
