Feeling a bit lost? Not sure exactly what's going on, or how a forum works? Well, I've decided to set something up to help you out.
You have a choice now to be 'adopted' by one of our slighter older, more experienced members who you can chat to. These people have been kindly offered to make themselves available for you to ask anything about - whether it's a question about the site, about the forums, or just general chit chat.
Please don't be afraid to approach them! Feel free to chat in this thread to your friends and get to know some of the older members - we're not all that bad, promise!
Q: How do I choose a member?
We've included a line or two from the members who have offered to get involved in this, just PM any of them who you like the look of. If you can't find anyone but still would like a friend, feel free to post in the thread and I'll try match you up with someone.
Q: What do I do if they start being mean to me or intimidating me, or generally being unwelcoming?
PM me and tell me what they've said: Click here to PM me.
Q: I've been here a while but haven't posted - can I still be adopted by someone?
Yes, as long as you have under 500 posts, you can still take part.
Q: What's a PM?
It's a personal or private message - you can send them to the members of the forum and only they receive it.
I've included the link straight to the PM - so it's really easy to use.
Q: I'm a newb - do I HAVE to be adopted by someone?
No, it's optional. It's just an idea to help you get used to the swing of the forums and make it more inviting for ya - just someone to talk to!
Q: Is there anyone else I can talk to?
All of the moderating team are available for your questions or worries - here's a link to the current moderating team.
Otherwise, generally most of our members will be friendly enough if you want to drop them a PM or chat!
Q: Can I PM more than one member for help?
Sure, whatever you like, but for easyness sake it might be best to choose one who you can get to know well, and they'll get to know you too. DON'T WORRY IF THEY DON'T REPLY. It probably means they haven't been online in a while, just go PM someone else instead
