A Horror Story
Posted 03 January 2012 - 03:27 PM
You can be a family member, a ghost living in the house or a neighbor. The ghosts are exactly like real people. They can be touched, seen and talked to. The only thing they canít do is die [obviously] and leave the property, besides on Halloween night [they can leave for the day and the rest of the night. They HAVE to be back before the sunrises though. Nobody knows what happens if they stay out any longer]. They can also choose who sees them and can teleport throughout the house.
Many of the ghosts yearn to leave the house and move on, but how?
-Use any kind of picture you want. I donít really care. As long as itís not a super common picture. >.>
-Please, for the love of god, donít god mod or do any stupid grammar things. Like using asterisks or whatever. Use ďĒ when talking and italics when thinking. PERIOD. We will ignore the rest of your posts if you donít.
-Also, quality > quantity. Give the other roleplayers something to work with and donít dead end the post so nobody else knows what to do. Iíd much rather have a five sentence post that gives me something to work with rather than a thirty sentence post about how good they look or what they ate for breakfast.
-Romance and fighting is encouraged, of course. Let romance SLOWLY occur though. Donít just look at each other and instantly fall in love. [this doesnít apply to the husband and wife, obviously. -__-] Rivalries are a different story because we all have that one person who we instantly donít like for really no reason at all. Oh, and no sex scenes. If the clothes are coming off, time skip. >.<
-Donít be all attention seeking and annoying either. Nobody likes those people -__-
-This is NOT a fantasy roleplay. Leave the powers and vampires out of the equation. Like Iíve mentioned before, itís real life.
-Have as many characters as you can handle, but you can only be one person in the family living in the mansion.
-If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Who are you? [Ghost, part of the family (specify), neighbor]
Cause of death [ghosts only; you can delete this part if youíre alive]
Posted 03 January 2012 - 03:34 PM
Appearance Age: 39
Real Age: 39
Who are you? Part of the family; Wife
Personality: Outspoken. Vivian is a very kind hearted spirit who wants nothing more then to be there for her family. She's very supportive but has her tendencies to be a bit rash and occasionally snappy.
Name: Tate Langdon
Appearance Age: 19
Real Age: Unknown
Who are you? Ghost.
Cause of death: Shot multiple times in the chest and stomach.
Personality: Tate has psychopathic tendencies, but hides them very well. He acts like a caring, loving and passionate person, but deep down, he cares for no one. Not even himself. He's outgoing, witty and scarily charming. Sometimes, when he snaps, he becomes cold, harsh and very violent.
History: Tate's history is a brutal one. He was an outcast at school, on purpose too. He hated everyone. People disgusted him. After the first two years of high school, his sanity slipped completely out of his grasp. He began killing people. Not people he hated though, he only killed people he liked. His theory was that he was saving them from the dirty and corrupted world they lived in. He didn't get caught for a long time, but evidence was starting to point towards him. He was very much aware of this. So, one day, he decided to do a heavy drug, commonly known as cocaine. That's when he made his world crash down on him. He went to his high school and began shooting people. Everyone in his sight, he shot down. After he was satisfied, he went to his house, sat on his bed and waited patiently for the police to come for him. Once they did, he pulled a gun on them which made the police shoot him down instantly. Ever since that day, he wanders the house, bored and alone. Though he had some fun with the previous owners that lived in the house..
Name: Luna Hawke
Appearance Age: 20
Real Age: 20
Who are you? Neighbor.
Personality: Luna is very quiet and reserved. Most of the time, she stays in her house or visiting over at the mansion. She's very bright and intelligent; one of those women who can easily get out of a sticky situation just by sitting down and thinking for five minutes.
History: Luna was married early; she married at the age of eighteen. She didn't turn out to be one of those women who got a divorce because of the early marriage, like most people assumed. Her husband died when he went off to war a year after their marriage. She had always lived in the house though, even with her husband. Because when she was little, she lived in the mansion. Tate was her big brother. She knows of the, what she calls, "curse" upon the house that makes Tate be trapped in the house. She loved him and was even aware of all wrong he did. She helped him keep it concealed as well. She just didn't want anything to happen to her protector.. Her big brother. She keeps this a secret, however. Every day she hopes nobody moves into the house again, so she could openly visit Tate whenever she wanted.

Did I ask you? I don't believe I did. It's not like she's actually going to be wearing those clothes anyway. So shoo.

Who are you?: Previous occupant.
Cause of death: Suicide by hanging.
Personality: Endlessly confident and cheery, Rudy is a diamond in the rough: he often means well and is never purposefully vindictive or unpleasant - but he is crass and crude and often doesn't question anything. His live-in-the-moment, fun-loving attitude, however, hides deep insecurities, self-pity, and a feeling of melancholy.
History: Rudy drank, danced, took drugs, and had fun. He made some bad choices, and fell in with a bad crowd, and wound up in love with a girl who fucked him - taking his virginity - and chucked him, and Rudy found out he was one in a long line of men who'd had the same done to them. Heartbroken, and his usual blind cheeriness scattered in pieces, he made an attempt on his life, succeeding; he now lives in the house with Tate. His housemates have since moved out.

Appearance Age: 14.
Real Age: 14.
Who are you?: Part of the family: son.
Personality: Shy, introverted, likes to stay by his mothers' side when out in public. However, he can be stubborn, and brave in certain situations.
Other: He has strange habits. When he was little, he preferred to stay inside on his own, despite the fact that he had a lot of friends in the neighbourhood from school. He acted as though his toys were really alive, and often pointed out strange things other people can't see. From the age of eight, he hasn't spoken a word. There is absolutely nothing wrong with him, but, for some reason he stopped speaking, and attempting to do so causes him distress. He can also see the ghosts all the time, even if they don't want to be seen.
Appearance Age: 29.
Real Age: 146.
Who are you?: Ghost.
Cause of death: Axed to death by her father.
Personality: Motherly, caring, she never minded cleaning up after people. However, if someone she cares about is in danger, she shows an almost terrifying side to her, as she protects them with everything she has.
History: Her father kept her locked up most of the time, trying to keep her away from boys. However, it was discovered that she secretly let one man, who she had fallen in love with, enter the house without her father knowing...Until she got pregnant. Furious, her father wrote letters to all the young men from the village, between the ages of 20 and 30, and invited them to a party at the house. He then proceeded to lock them in, and murder them with an axe. He then went upstairs, murdered his 29 year old, pregnant daughter, before killing himself.
Other: She has always been instinctively motherly to children living in the house, and keeps them protected from evil spirits.
Appearance Age: 19.
Real Age: 45.
Who are you?: Ghost.
Cause of death: Became locked in the basement until he starved to death.
Personality: Volatile, temperamental, demanding, likes to be in charge, doesn't like people trespassing in his home. However, he has a kinder, gentler side to him, which usually shows at first, until someone annoys him. Then that person becomes a permanent enemy. Although his actions seem like the work of an 'evil' spirit, his intentions are more to protect the house, than anything else.
History: He lived in the house from the age of 12, to 19. His parents had always feared him, because of his 'hobbies'. He would go out, and bring dead animals back to the house, claiming that he was trying to revive them. Some of the time, his parents would see perfectly healthy animals fleeing the house days later. They were highly religious, and believed he was the work of the devil. Unable to take anymore, they locked him in the basement, deciding that if he survived a month with no food or water, he was a demon. but, he died. He had spoken to the ghosts in the house, days before his death, and claimed that if he died down there, he would climb up from 'Hell' and kill his parents for what they did to him. Their bodies were found a week after his death.
Other: Since some of the ghosts comforted him, he decided to help them protect the house, since they had nowhere else to go.

"Tate?" She asked, looking around the dingy house.
"Yeees?" He chimed, appearing behind her. Luna jumped. He chuckled at her. "Came for your daily visit? You know you won't be able to do that for much longer. There's a new family moving in today."
"I know.." She murmured sadly. What was she going to do? She always went over to the house.. "I doubt they'll last long though. They never do."
Tate nodded once. "True that. They'll be gone within the month, I bet." He paused for a second. "Don't you have work at the doctor's office soon?"
"Yeah, but it's only a ten minute drive. I'll leave soon, though."
Tate shrugged. "Alright. But I'm not sure when they're coming. I just know they are."
Luna hugged him tight. "I'll try to be friends with the neighbors. Maybe then I'll have an excuse to come over and see you."
Tate hugged back with one arm. "Yeah, maybe. Good luck though. And try not to kill anyone at work today." He smirked at her. Luna punched his arm lightly.
"I'm the best doctor in this town. Don't doubt me." With that, she turned on her heels and left the mansion for possibly the last time in a long time.
Vivian sighed as she threw her last suitcase in the trunk of the car. It was going to be a long drive. She rubbed her eyes sleepily and yawned. She had hardly slept for the past week. The stress from the recent divorce was about to drive her over the edge.
She walked back inside. "Natsume?" She called. No answer. He must have been still sleeping. It was pretty early in the morning, after all.
Vivian walked into his room and gently shoot his shoulder. "Natsume, dear. It's about time to go." She said softly. "You need to get dressed. You can sleep in the car if you'd like."
Posted 05 January 2012 - 07:36 PM
I have to go now, he thought sadly, wishing he could explain that they were moving. The cat looked upset, though, and it jumped straight through the wall, going into a different room. Sadly, Natsume stood up again, and grabbed the last outfit from the bottom of the walk in wardrobe. Everything else was already packed up. Then, he made his way to the bathroom, taking with him the bell from his bedside table.

"'Try not ta kill anyone?' Tha's just a bit twisted maate, in't it? From you, after all." He sniffed. Tate turned, and Rudy put a finger over his mouth and then mimed zipping his lips shut.
He followed Tate into the kitchen, fishing out a box of cereal from a cupboard above his head, holding it in one hand and fetching cereal from within with the other. He proffered the box to Tate, who turned it down. Rudy shrugged.
"Still, big day eh? What with them new folks movin' in an' all." Rudy mused, mostly to himself. "Aah think your month bet is a bit pessimistic, though, I mean they might be alright this time, eh? Plus I think it's a bit rude, ta boot."
He put the cereal box on the side. "Tell you what, though, things 'ave a funny way of timing themselves, I got me anniversary coming up in a couple days." He scratched his brow. "Ten years since I, uh...well, you know." He rubbed his throat. There was still faint purple bruising in a circling line. "Did the ol' one-two ropestep." He took his hand away, giong for more cereal. "How long left till your next little 'celebration', huh?"
Posted 05 January 2012 - 08:05 PM
"The way you put things into words amuses me." He snickered. "'One-two ropestep', honestly, Rudy. Where do you come up with this stuff."
Tate plopped down on a stool that was resting in front of the little bar in the middle of the kitchen.
"My sister is a doctor, I'm obligated to harass her for it. Wish she had the backbone I have. Do you know how much fun it would be to be a doctor? Me being a doctor? That would certainly bring some chaos in this world, I'll tell you what."
He spun around in circles on the stool. "I hope this new family wasn't like the last one. They booked the moment they saw Emily. How long did they stay? Like two weeks?" He laughed slightly. "What pussies."
He grabbed onto the table, making himself stop spinning. He looked up at the ceiling, contemplating. "I think I have another month or two. It's kind of fuzzy when it comes to something like that, to be honest. All the days kind of just..ran together."
A frown appeared on his face, then he sighed. "Well, uh. Congrats then on your foolish decision to be stuck in this house with a serial killer, a 'devils child' and a girl with daddy issues." The frown then turned into a smirk. He thought he was just so witty.
Vivian smiled down at Natsume, hugging him back tightly. "Good morning to you, too." She then left his room to get ready and walked down the stairs, her hand gently touching the railing along the side of the stairs. She really didn't want to leave, but she knew they had to. They had to get away from all this pain lingering in the house.
She began walking outside and sat in the car. She was worried about Natsume. Vivian hoped everyday that Natsume would start talking. She missed hearing his voice. She sighed and started the car, waiting for Natsume to get into the car.
Posted 05 January 2012 - 08:16 PM
He hurried back to his room to grab the notepad and pen, and rushed downstairs, and out the door, to the car. As he sat down, and put on his seatbelt, he immediately started to write: Sorry for taking so long. How long until we get there? Showing the paper to Vivian, he saw the ghost cat again out of the corner of his eye, and waved goodbye to it.
Posted 05 January 2012 - 08:23 PM
He leant against the countertop. "So, are we gonna be raisin' a glass to your death, this year, or the other ones? I still feel awkward about those streamers we 'ad las' year. Red was a bad choice...shoulda...gone black, maybe..."
Rudy frowned as Tate listed the 'residents'. "Well, now, 'ey 'ey, that's not rightly fair, is it. It was the dad, right, that had the issues, I feel, 'e just took 'em out in a...inappropriate fashion, right? And that kid ain't soo bad, is'e? Bit quiet but ya would be, right?" Rudy didn't say anything about the 'serial killer' part. Tate knew where he stood.
"I'm glad, if anythin'. 'oo knows what 'appens to the people that die all normal-like, eh? I mean this little disappearin' thing we do feels like sleep, without the dreams, o'course. An' if'n it's not just nothin', I figure this house is better than spendin' it somewhere else, right? I mean, we're all in the same water 'ere, don't matter 'ow deep. We're still swimmin' in the same pool, right? All I'm sayin' is, I'm glad that pool's not filled with laava an' eternal pain." He scratched his jaw, looking contemplative.
Posted 05 January 2012 - 08:42 PM
She looked ahead of her and huffed. This was going to be a long drive. She flipped on the radio and put the car in drive and began driving.
She often wondered who Natsume was waving at. He did it a lot, but she wasn't sure why. It was such an odd thing, really. She just assumed he had imaginary friends.
Tate shrugged one shoulder. "I dunno, dude. You are talking to someone like me, after all. There is beauty in life, but I honestly believe the afterlife may be much, much better.. I mean, not for people like us. But maybe for the people I.. relieved from this lifetime." He smirked then continued, "I bet if we didn't die in this house, we'd go somewhere else. Maybe we'd be reincarnated as someone else.. Or what if the Christians were actually right? That means 'lava and eternal suffering' for the both of us." He chuckled and looked up at Rudy. "You may want to stay in this house, but I'm ready to leave.. Or at least have more company in this house. Could you imagine if some hot girl died in this house? That would be great." Tate often hoped an attractive girl would live in the house. He figured that if he could be touched and pick up things, he could kill people too. Of course, he'd make her death look like an accident.. So she could stay with him forever and not hate him for killing her.
He smiled a bit after his twisted thought was completed. "I really don't understand why we would celebrate our deaths like that. I mean, it's pointless, really. At least I think it is. I'd rather not be reminded of the day I gave in." He then scoffed as Rudy attempted to defend the other residents in the house. "I loved how you left me out of the equation." He said, sarcastically offended. "They're okay, I guess. Quite like the quiet one, though. Emily is too.. motherly for my taste, to be honest."
Tate hopped off the stool and wandered into the living room, holding his hands behind his back. "Wonder what time the family is gonna get here. And how long they'll last.. I bet you ten bucks they won't last a month. Although, betting with money with a ghost is a bit pointless.."
Posted 05 January 2012 - 09:03 PM
Then, she moved onto the subject of the new inhabitants. "Can you two at least try to stay out of their way, for at least a couple of hours? Or, stay invisible if you can't resist? We have to give them a chance, or they wont last a day!...I'm actually looking forward to seeing what kind of people they are."
"We can still run them out when we get bored, right?" Shiro asked, sounding bored, as he floated down into the room. "We don't want them sticking around too long...It's best when it's just us here. The living do nothing but cause trouble."
Natsume nodded, but he was determined not to sleep. His mother needed some company, especially now.
He stared out of the window, watching the house vanish from view for the last time. It was dangerous to make Vivian read while driving, so the questions he had would have to wait ten hours. As usual, out of the window, he saw different kinds of people. Some of whom looked extremely out of place, wearing old fashioned clothes, or torn clothes, or they were covered in blood or were completely drenched...Some were even bound in chains. No one was ever bothered by these people, though. They just walked right by them. He assumed it was just...normal somehow.
He looked forward, and his eyes widened in fear. One of the strange people was standing in the middle of the road, and they were about to run them over. He attempted to shout; to warn Vivian, but it was no use. No sound came. And, before he knew it, it was too late. He covered his eyes. But, the car just drove right through the person, and when he looked back, they were still standing there. He took a deep breath, and let it out slowly.

Appearance: images.jpg 7.63K 1 downloads
Personality: Caring, outgoing, curious, friendly, and a little bit stuck up.
History: Moved out of home, and just moving into a new house.
Ana only just finished unpacking all of her gear into her new home, it was really quiet and she had nothing to do for the time being. She walked outside and saw the front garden needed some work to be done, but she knew that could be done at anytime she wanted, for the moment she was going to go around the neighbourhood introducing herself. She looked across the street and saw a wonderful but old mansion, hmm, good place to start. Ana walked across the street and knocked on the front door hoping someone was home.

Okay then :| Sorry. But I'm really good with horror, trust me, I write my own books. But okay, it's fine if I'm not in this one, I'm only just a beginner at roleplay anyways.
[Livethendieemo, I forgot to add to ask before joining. But I'd rather you not be in this rp. No offense, of course. But this one is more for the "senior" roleplayers, I suppose is the right word for it.]
