Cognitive Functions Test In Relation To Mbti
#1
Posted 28 January 2012 - 07:55 PM
So here is a test based on the cognitive functions of the myers-briggs-type-inventory test that has been posted before. This test is generally much more accurate. The only difference is the questions are a bit trickier. You must know yourself fairly well to give an accurate answer. The upside is the questions aren't as biased as they are in the humanmetrics version.
Although I know the types of most people here, I'd like to see how this test differs from the one you've taken before.
http://keys2cognition.com/explore.htm
Each type has four main functions they are familiar with. For example, I am INFP so my four functions are as follows:
Dominant: Fi (intoverted feeling)
Auxilary: Ne (extroverted intuition)
Teritary Si (intoverted sensing)
Inferior: Te (extroverted thinking)
Now, the functions aren't always necessarily in this order as far as strength is concerned. For example, my Te is slightly stronger than my Si. But because these two functions are less developed, they often emerge in times of stress.
It will give you your determined type. Then it will give you two more you might relate with as well. But I've found the first given type is most likely going to be the one you relate most to. If you've answered the questions accurately enough that is.
I won't explain it all. If you're not familiar with all this, the test will explain it all to you more thouroughly.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration
of cognitive processes, your pattern of
responses most closely matches individuals
of this type: INTJ
Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Intuiting (Ni) :
Transforming with a meta-perspective.
Withdrawing from the world and focusing
your mind to receive an insight or
realization. Checking if synergy results.
Trying out a realization to transform things.
Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Thinking (Te) : Measuring
and constructing for progress. Making
decisions objectively based on evidence
and measures. Checking if things function
properly. Applying a procedure to control
events and complete goals.
If these cognitive processes don't fit well
then consider these types: ENTJ , or ISTJ
yup, INTJ. I was surprised to get the same on this test, I thought it might surprise me.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ISFP
Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.
Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Sensing (Se): Immersing in the present context. Responding naturally to everything tangible you detect through your senses. Checking with what your gut instincts say. Testing limits and take risks for big rewards.
If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ESFP, or INFP

I've done a few things like this before, but I can't remember what I got. IN-something, I think. This one seems to fit pretty well, though that unused Fe can't be healthy.

Your results have never changed depending on your mood?Yup. Every single test I ever do is ENFJ
Also said I should consider INFJ, or ESFP
What I like about this test is it always gives me INFP, whereas the test on humanmetrics changes a lot. I suppose it depends on your balance between them. Both have their upsides though. This one gives your your cognitive strengths while the humanmetrics gives you strength of your four preferences.

My results are nearly a carbon copy of yours. It's always interesting to see how people score in these things.

Says I should consider ENFP or INTP
I relate well to INTP and INFJ, even ISFP at times. But not ENFP.

this one i got..
Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INTP
Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Gaining leverage (influence) using a framework. Detaching to study a situation from different angles and fit it to a theory, framework or principle. Checking for accuracy. Using leverage to solve the problem.
Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation’s dynamics.
If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENTP, or INFJ
well then. :L
forrest: you got ENFP last time. ;P Js. http://www.emo-corner.com/forums/topic/54582-mbti-personality-types/
I always thought mine was pretty true tbh.
If someone attempts to make a sarcastic, mocking comment about an interest of an INTP, the latter will defend himself with a pure, almost naive seriousness - probably why I feel the need to argue with trolls. D;
The INTPs defence usually also contains a subtle but biting attack thrown back in the mocker's face, chiefly because the INTP cannot entirely hide the fact that he believes his opponent to be stupid.
If an INTP decides to learn a skill, then it is very important for him that he reaches a sufficient level so that basic errors can be avoided. Errors made by others are to be expected and can be criticised.
INTP will often make controversial, speculative points of argument, often annoying the discussion-partner, and make them in such a way as to leave the impression that he is very serious about what he says. In reality, the INTP is not actually even certain himself whether he really stands by what he is saying, but his Ne strongly suggests that there must be a core of truth there.
Funnily enough, INTPs are dreadful tellers of jokes (yep)
The chameleon behaviour can be particularly strong when discussing something. The INTP may even argue something that he doesn't really believe himself. (definitely me)
anyway i'll stop there but basically loads of it describes me pretty well. The only thing i'd be a little unsure about is the fact i'm very artistic and not really interested in maths or computing at all as the type would appear to suggest.

Though it did say I should also consider INTJ. That's odd, I never got F before.
hmm, some of the description fits and some of it doesn't. I actually don't think I really fit into any one type, I used to think INTJ or INTP fit perfectly but I'm not so certain anymore, I'm very logical and I value logic hugely, but then I'm also quite creative and always trying to find meaning in things and aesthetics are very important to me, etc.
edit: I think it's actually INTP that fits best.

You might very well be INTP. It matches well. I know many INTPs to be creative and artisitc, just in a bit different way than an INFP, ISFP, or feeler for that matter. INTPs are actually very much a like. They both seek to know more about the world. They essential reach the same conlusion, but by differing processes.
