As you all obviously care so much, it's valentines day and it's chewy and I's year anniversary together. We met right here on EC and will be moving in together in a couple of weeks.


So I was just curious guys, what other success stories do we have? What have you gained IRL through coming on EC, friends, relationships, happiness and other fuzzy stuff... Or has EC just led to pain, heartbreak and suffering within your tortured little soul?

A new found perspective on how I see life. I think being able to talk to others with problems similar to mine has allowed me to feel like I belong. Yes, I know, how fucking sappy. But at the same time, seeing those same people make positive changes to their lives has shown me I can do the same. And it's been a slow but productive journey so far.

It's been extremely interesting actually, and I would venture to guess that I have had the most ridiculous and full experience that this place has to offer. I don't think anyone else's comes close, and I don't even mean that in a positive way. That's what you get when you ball so hard.

I've met some pretty cool people here, and had the opportunity to watch the growth and development of various individuals - some for better, and some worse. It's been very interesting and I've enjoyed being a part of it, despite everyone's efforts to convince me how horribly uncool this place is

Reconnected with some of you, and made some new friends. It also acts as a positive alternative to keeping myself busy, and I once again have that interwebz and meme-educated crowd of friends I missed oh so much when I lost sight of the webz.
I also got to physically hang with someone who really isn't that far away from me when you think about the variety of locations represented in our members here. And might I say, I had a swell time with Station. Lolololol.
I love some of you, and those of you I hate, I still love for that reason. We're a big dysfunctional family of sorts

I was surprised actually about the people who actually come on this site frequently. Some people I don't understand what reason they came on here for because the people I like certainly wouldn't be classed as emo. Except Staton. But yeah, I met with a few of you guys, Chad, Amy and Rellik to be specific and you're all wonderful people. I can't imagine yinfaitl, Jess, Algernon, Geist, Forrest, Chad or Forzare as an emo at all, either. Maybe I'm too new to here

Oh yeah and I'm going to see Amy in a few days to see what Winchester is all about. I heard that's where Hyena spawned too.

See i've loved just reading all of these and whilst I have no real reply to any in particular I think EC's affected a fair few of us much more than we'd normally care to admit
I knew nothing of the internet, memes, 4chan or anything of that calibre before EC, you guys have educated me in internets. :L I've also had a few interesting EC related experiences but overall I think it's made a pretty positive impact.

Yer I'm taking the train, I'll be starting off at Huddersfield though, which goes to Manchester then to Winchester, which is an hour extra. Hopefully the train ride won't be too bad since reserved seats and all the music I could ever want to listen to on my Walkman (fuck the iPod). Amy had better show me some cool Winchester sites then, I've not been down south in a while either come to think of it.

I was about to start whining about never meeting any of you but as I read your posts, I realized I actually get a lot from EC.

I've learnt a lot of English grammar here. I've learnt tons of words, too, and I'm still slowly learning to talk about a variety of things. My writing wasn't all that great when I joined EC and I can seriously say that while spending hours online might not be the best use of my time, coming to EC is like getting private tutoring.

I've also talked to many incredible people, heard amazing stories and learnt to understand different cultures and opinions.

I love you EC.

I never was emo. I don't remember why I joined this site. I think it was because I needed a mindless distraction at the time and EC had a role-playing forum. Ironically, I only once joined an RPG and that was a long, long time after I joined.

I think for people to deny they get something out of this place is ridiculous, why the hell else would some people be sticking around for a matter of years, and I see them online several times a week? Old members regularly come back, you might leave EC but EC never really leaves you!

I could say I've got a number of things from this place. It's probably contributed to me understanding a little better where people might be coming on certain subjects (Objet has entirely changed my view on prostitution, that's just one example), it's made me think about certain topics I might not have before... in terms of the members which is what it ultimately comes down to: there's good and there's bad. I could have done without the DOZENS of accusations of romantic relationships with pretty much every male member on this forum, though. Most of the time, it's been pretty interesting and reassuring in a very fucked up way to know that in some way or other, if one of our regular members was seriously in trouble there would be a pretty strong support system for him there, kind of like how it was with cocks. I like hearing about your guys days (semi-stalkeresque, I know), your thoughts, things going on with your life, etc.

Most importantly, I've met one of my best friends on here. I know better than to expect him to be soppy or personal on this forum, so I'll do it enough for the both of us (you're all welcome): I've counted algernon as one of my best friends for almost two years now, and he's one of the most amazing people I've ever spoken to. I can't recall ever having a serious fight with him. I'll be meeting him in the summer at the latest. That's all I'm gonna say really, before that triggers accusations that we're already married.

I was such a douche when I joined and I've evolved to being a grade a cunt haha

I've made a lot of friends on here and I'm happy for that
