I tried to get it like Forzares haha, I don't know how she did it.
lmao, no artistic thinking at all. I just love paint splatters, and will recommend them for everything.I sort of get what you mean, i'll think of some ideas for now, you're thinking more artistically about it than I was, I was using it as a symbol, not just a background.
i'll have a think of some splattery things.

I like the reflection idea, but the waves just don't fit in with the alternative theme. I would draw a sketch of what I had in mind, but sadly I'm a horrible drawer, even if it's stick figures. But what I was thinking is to bring emphasis on the "nation", maybe placing a world globe behind made of mechanical gears to give it that steampunk look, and surrounded by it is the site's name "alternation"
Kind of like the Universal Studios logo.
it's not exactly what you described, but I did a quick sketch - I had been toying with similar ideas, but I love the gears

I'll do one on computer in a while, it'll look a loooot better as I can use proper images rather than 2 minute sketches
alethia, what font did you use? I really like it.

That two minute sketch is much better than any 30 minute sketch I can come up with
And this is what I had in mind about the whole globe-gears thing. The font could be different, maybe incorporate Forzare's idea ("nation" reflected below "alter") too.

The cog was inspired by yinfaitl's use of the cog. It looks cool to me, so yeah.
