The only steps I hear on the concrete are my own,
the whistle of the wind whips through branches as they're blown,
The darkness from the night casts shadows below,
To have a single friend by me, at least one to hold,
but I'm not frightened because I'm not afraid to walk alone,
this is all I've ever known,
Through pouring hail, Through blistering snow,
My lips may quiver, my bones may ache,
My flesh may bruise, bloody and blue,
My face may scar, my eyes may blur,
but the fire in my heart will always burn,
I keep moving along because I'm not too weak to walk alone

Just a little poem I came up with while thinking..

Yea.

I AM NOT AFRAID TO KEEP ON LIVING
I AM NOT AFRAID TO WALK THIS WORLD ALONE
THE PRIEST SAYS IF I'M GAY I'LL BE FORGIVEN
NOTHING HE WILL SAY CAN STOP ME BLOWING LOADS

It actually reminds me of Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance:

"I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone."

I enjoyed this, it is all ways a good thing to be reminded that something as simple as being able to walking alone, makes you one of the strongest.

well, by god, Ed, you just about kicked the traditional image of youth poetry out the metaphorical window, didn't ya, bud?
