I have this day of the month, every single month, where I'll be incredibly emotional and usually end up crying over absolutely nothing. It's ridiculous, but I've found just accepting it and crying already is a hell of a lot better than trying to subdue it and having the mood last for longer.

Generally I'm a very happy person though. I'm absolutely for speaking about your problems and your bad moods, but people who are permanently in a state of sadness and sit there with a fucking face on them, with no willingness to change or do anything about it irritate the crap out of me. People who are never in a good mood aren't fun to be around. A friend of mine is ALWAYS happy and it's incredibly infectious and she's always good to be around and always makes me smile.

I actually hate when other people act all depressed around me. I usually make an effort to joke around with my friends and stuff so I don't piss everyone off, I'd say I actually seem quite upbeat most of the time around friends. I generally feel a bit better when I'm not alone anyway.

I feel depressed often, but it usually just turns into fury when I realize that almost all of my problems are caused by other people.

Well yes, of course. Life.. life can be depressing. Sometimes it's hard to see the light down the end of the tunnel. We often trudge blindly through the darkness and it seems to last forever. Life is life though, and life would not be life without those depressing times. Besides, as an old friend of mine used to always say "Well, it could always be worse."
Just think about that next time you decide to complain about your life >.<
I think the problem with society is how we handle depression. For some reason, a lot of us seem to skip the 'talking it over' part and head straight to the 'My life sucks so I'd rather die' part :/
I mean, depression can last for years and years depending on what type of depression you have, but no depression lasts forever.
That's why we can't lose hope now ^_^

I really hate when people complain about their lives when they aren't even attempting to change it >.<
I mean, really, we can all complain for a life time about our sucky lives, but it's not going to change unless we make it change.

Actually, depression is an illness which can affect people all their lives. It's not about complaining about your life either, many people who suffer from depression accept that they have no problems in their lives as such; a lot of the time it is "all in their head" but that doesn't make it any easier.

I definitely agree with what you're saying about taking steps to change and improve your life instead of complaining about how much you hate it. I'm just clarifying that there's a difference between being an "emo kid" and hating your life, and suffering from depression.

By the way, the thought that your life could be worse does not make it any better. Sometimes things, which aren't huge in the grand scale of things, can really get people down. Sure it could be worse, but that thought is probably just going to make someone feel guilty about being upset.

"I just told my parents that I'm addicted to cocaine and they kicked me out of the house and now I have no money and nowhere to go."
"Ah it could be worse, you could be an orphan with HIV starving in Africa."
"Now that you've put it into perspective for me I realise that I have no real problems, thank you."

I find that "it could be worse" is a way for a person to avoid listening to someone talk about their problems, I mean it's a bit of a cop out.
