I think you should call it Vampire, ya know, so it reflects the original poem by gothchick. If it wasn't already obvious what I'm trying to say, I'm locking this thread in 1 day if you don't prove you're the true author of this poem (IE. if you're gothchick, give me proof).

It is truly my work from 2008 that is also copyrighted, so i'd appreciate it if you'd please remove this then if you don't believe it! I have reported it to the SheKnows site so I do not believe you need to try to trash me like you have been Steve! Not only that but the site banned that user for this! Fact is I wrote this when I was going through a very dark time in my life and now I have posted it as I was going through my things and I now know who it is for.

So, let me get this straight: You copyright your poems, correct? Which means the poem is exclusively yours and to be distributed and used according to what you allow/don't allow. That means if you showed the correct information to someone, they have to remove it from the site. Instead the user gets banned and the poem remains on the site? That's infringement and any site not willing to shell money out for just one poem would be intelligent enough to remove the poem too. In fact, even if they didn't know copyright law, why didn't you request the poem be removed too? It only makes sense, it's yours right?

What also confuses me, like, really confuses me is this: You have to pay to register something as copyright yourself, it's about $35-50 according to the US law (which, by your flag, I'm assuming you're from). You paid this filing fee for a poem you wrote four years ago, which you don't seem to even have bothered to think up of a title for?

Few more things: I'm not sure how the support system for that website worked in '09, but now they don't feel the need to post their address and phone number at the end of every email, and why would you feel the need to give your contact number to someone who already has a means to contact you (IE, your email address is now known to them to contact you back on). Again, assuming this work is yours, I found no evidence from my searches that proved you ever published this poem originally. It has been posted a few times on other forums and art related sites, but they all were posted after the link I showed you, and with the same name "Vampire". Did you report these other sites too? If not, why not? You reported the other site.

The reason I ask all this is because I want to know the facts, clearly there's some airtight piece of proof I can't argue against, like a screenshot of this supposed email you sent (and seem to still have saved in your inbox 3 years down the line). If you're telling the truth, though, I admire your vigilance in protecting your poem from being stolen and resubmitted, because you found your poem which you originally wrote posted by some darned faker just a day after it was submitted by them! Hats off to you, if someone stole something I copyrighted, it would be months (if ever) before I found out about it. A whole day and you caught them out, kudos to you, sir!

First of all I have many poems published and copyrighted, second I don't really care what you believe ever since i've met you all you have done is look down your nose at me and others too. I don't mind your concerns and I never will as i'm glad you're modding like this it's nice to know. Don't look down at someone that HAS the money and resources to pay for things that might seem stupid or pointless to others. I do protect MY work, just like my artwork and music aswell. They are all copyrighted to me for the sole purpose of what you had posted. I'm not looking to get into a pissing contest with you because I do think you're pretty cool and appreciate you approving my posts so I may post things here. I'm not sure what their system was like in 09, and my Gmail has emails that go back to when I opened it, I don't delete things cuz there is no reason to with all the storage. I copy pasted it so you can see exactly how it was read out with info tabs shown. It's fine that you don't believe me but the truth of the matter is i've got the legal right to it and about 70+ other poems that I have written, from what I was told on the phone by the support team was that the site was going into archive and no more changes to it were being made to past accounts that had been banned due to lack of staff for moderating. I have multiple times requested to have it removed and they have not removed it, I gave up a year ago due to the fact it seemed pointless to persue something that someone else just didn't care about. I could go the legal way and get a attorney and force them to remove it but as you know the cost vs reason isn't worth the hassle. This is why it's still there, I have searched other places and it's been posted on sites that I have contacted but NEVER heard anything back. I'm assuming due to poor management. I do thank you Steve for removing it and I won't be posting another poem here either way. I don't need people that love to try to destroy things just to get their kicks off stressing me out over something that is very simple. Once again thank you for removing it, it's much appreciated and btw answer my pm xD

I don't love to destroy things. I'm more of a fan of preserving the rightful owners of artwork and poetry, don't think I'm picking on you in particular because I make sure every thread that comes through here gets checked into for plagiarism. If I find a poem that has been posted here to have been posted somewhere else, I will bring it up regardless of who you are.

I base my accusations on fact and common sense. The only facts I know for certain are
1. This thread was posted in 2012
2. You are a male
3. This poem has been posted a few times on separate boards, under completely different aliases, the earliest of which is presumably posted by a girl, in 2009.

Your email is suspicious too. It was supposedly sent a day after the poem I linked you to was posted originally, which, unless you have an account on that particular site and visited it frequently enough to scour the site daily for new works, seems very unlikely to have happened. Regardless, the odds of you being the original publisher of this poem are very low, considering all the facts. If, however, you do come up with some form of solid proof that this poem is actually yours, fair enough, I'm wrong and I'll apologise for grilling you. Until then, though, I'm locking this thread and you will be warned for plagiarism.

One last thing - $35 x 70 = $2,450. That's a lot of disposable income for hobbyist poetry copyrighting.
