hey guys and gals this is a question I like to ask a lot of people because it really shows there personality, and as well its probably one of the best ways and easiest ways to save a persons life for example when my mum gave birth to me she lost a lot of blood and if it wasnt for a blood donor she would be dead as a doornail by know.

So have you given blood yet or not if not why?, FYI im giving blood next year not old enough yet :( .

I can't give blood because I lived in England for two years during a certain period and there's a risk I'm carrying Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease or something. Might be selfish of me but I'm almost glad I can't donate blood, having blood taken makes me feel really ill and whenever I have to, I always practically pass out during it.

Not too often, since I'm AB+ and there really isn't much of a demand for it.

She doesn't have it, there was an outbreak of it when she lived in England. It is rare but it is passed by contaminated blood donations. That's why she can't give blood

Myself I plan on giving blood but I've always got a tattoo/piercing within the 6 months that I needed to wait
I am an organ donor already, ive a card in my purse for it and it's on my driving licence that I am

i have a very clear thought that if i was sick and needed a transplant i would want someone to help me, so of course if anything happens to me im more than willing to give my organs to someone who with out them would die. i think it would be a bit selfish if i didnt

I've had my blood taken.

Do not like needles at all; I passed out the first time I did it. :/

Would I do it in an emergency to save a loved one's life? Sure, I would.

when I hear I like needles mate that for some reason sounds a bit weird no offense of course and as my last question for you guys on this subject is that would you give up an organ for someone if it ment you dying and them living? (btw put it in the case that you are a normal healthy person)

I'm used to it. :L It's not as bad as it sounds, when most people cringe and faint when having injections or having blood taken, I like how it feels. It's pretty fascinating.

I've had blood taken for tests before I loved the feeling of it. I've no idea why lol. I also don't mind needles, I had an addiction to piercings for a while lol

I've had blood taken from me for testing purposes before, I didn't mind it, so I wouldn't mind giving blood at all. I have attempted to give blood a few times, but every time I attempt to give blood, the tests come back with undesirable results. The reason I can't give blood is because of the medications I'm on, which sucks a lot. I could come off my meds for two-three weeks but I'd be worried what will happen in those weeks. My blood type is pretty rare too which makes me want to give blood even more, but as I say, giving blood requires I come off my medication. :(

I also have an organ donor card, I'm on the bone marrow register too, so if my bone marrow type is the same as someone in need's, I'll be called up and asked to give it.

I didn't think I could for quite some time. I had jaundice when I was younger and I was told I couldn't. apparenetly that's not true though, so a friend and I are planning to donate blood together some time soon. I don't think my blood type is too rare, though. There was a report a while back about them having to dispose of blood because they had so much of it.

I have an organ donor card and I've made it clear to my family and friends that if anything was to ever happen to me I absolutely want everything possible to be donated to someone else if they want it. I don't see the point in NOT being a donor, what use is your heart to you when you're dead? I know some friends who have no issues with being donors but refuse to donate their eyes... I can't say I care all that much. Once I'm dead I'm dead, and I'd prefer to be cremated anyway - so I think whatever organs may be of use may as well be donated, especially if it could potentially help save someones life.

No. They don't want my blood because it has drugs in it. > : (

If I died though I'd want them to harvest my organs. Who wants dibs on my lungs? Liver maybe? It's all yours.

I've been short on cash for a couple of weeks, so I figured I'd sell my body for science. Giving blood seemed like the easiest option, so I looked it up, but it turns out you need to have been a non-smoker for at least three months.

So no, I haven't, but I would for money.

Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, nobody who lived in England for over a year between a certain period can give blood here, it's not just me and I'm pretty certain I don't actually have the disease. It can just lie dormant for decades or something and they can't test for it so they don't want to risk giving someone contaminated blood.

I don't know my blood type, I might ask them to tell me next time I get a blood test done.
