I physically freeze, have a small panic attack and immediately stop swimming when someone comes too close to me and I can't have anyone behind my back. I'm not a freak, I have a reason for it - You know when you learn to swim when you're like six or seven in primary school? The girl who used to bully me grabbed my leg and held me under, now I have a fear that there's a demon in every pool and it's going to kill me. >:/ I prefer to swim alone.
I'm the same with stairs, :L

The only fear I have is mysterious sea creatures nipping at my toes D:
Partially because the area of Maine I beach/vacation/swim in has frequent invasions of the Portuguese Man of War jellyfish.
I love swimming in the ocean though.
