Has there ever been a song that made you cry, and why? This song made me cry.

I listened to this song on my 15th birthday, which was my worst birthday ever. I had no friends at school (I had just moved), had an eating disorder, and was beyonddepressed. I felt like no one was there for me that day, not even to say happy birthday. My parent's got mad at me (I didn't even want to eat my birthday dinner) and I hated myself and wanted to die. I listened to this song and I connected with the lyrics so much....I will never forget that day.

I can't remeber how old I was when I heard this but 'When I'm Gone' made me cry, I think I was about 12. And also 'Hurt' by Jonny Cash because I felt the lyrics where exactly like the situation I was in at the time...

I heard this song once and it always makes me cry. It reminds me of a few dark times in my life and my ability to not really be able to trust anyone back into my life.
Usually I like this song when I'm drinking or smoking a cigarette and I just start bawling my eyes out especially at the part where he says "I woke up alone" and "sits alone by a lamp post" those lyrics
strike me the hardest I used to sing it all the time now it makes me cry. I know its about two lovers but I sometimes feel like this represented me back when I was younger and I had to be the stronger one and how I watched my mom fall from grace. when my mom was out doing stuff and I was stuck trying to piece my life back together after my parents separated and I truly felt alone.
I had to put all my care and push my feelings aside, which is hard! Divorce is a hard thing to deal with but I always found it harder to watch someone to fall from high up to way down low and I just watched the entire process with my own mother and that is a hard thing to watch. Reminds me of the time she took of with her recent boyfriend and left me completely alone in some foreign town I didn't know anyone and I just went through the emotions and always said "I am here for my mother" but I know she wasn't there for me.
I don't think I can ever forgive her for that even now at 21 I love her to death but I won't ever be able to forgive her for that.

I haven't heard that version, but I am not a huge fan of Jonny Cash so I would probably like that version better, and it is one of my favorites too

Ohhh I think I win at this game. I cry at anything and everything, including: Malice Mizer - Regret, Malice Mizer - Au Revoir, Linkin Park - In Between, Yiruma - River Flows In You, Big Bang - Haru Haru and Suvivirsi.
But most importantly: Päivänsäde ja Menninkäinen, ultimately the most heartbreaking song of all time. I'm not ashamed to say I still can't listen to it without crying.

So Far Away - Avenged Sevenfold
Fiction - Avenged Sevenfold
Obviously because of the Rev's passing, I still can't listen to either without getting a tear in my eye.
