Personally I like some of it but I only listen to so much before it just starts to sound like a wall of noise.

A lot of the earlier wall of noise bands are also described as emoviolence (powerviolence + emotive hardcore)
Personally, I prefer the newer, more mellow stuff over the 90's. That being said, there's always a time for some balls to the wall scramz.

Screaming/Growling/whatever vocals were definitely an acquired taste for me. I slowly worked into them though and now I can safely say I love a good Bloodbath song.
I don't really get the "wall of noise" thing anymore. I think screamo is definitely an acquired taste. For me it was, at least.

Still don't much like Orchid, actually. Pg.99, Saetia, Swing Kids and a few others are all great, though.
