On a scuba diving trip with the school a group of students got separated from the class when a storm broke up the group. The students that were separated from the group found themselves on an island a few miles from the beach of the town they live in.
While on the island the students find a spring that they think is fine to drink from, and so they do drink from it and within the next week they discover that the spring has powers and has transformed them into Mer-people.
They now have to cope with not only the drama of high school but also they have to hide the fact that whenever they come into contact with water they sprout a tail and fin, they also have to hide the powers that came with the transformation.

Personality: Motherly, to the point of being over protective of others. Kind and friendly, but scary at times. She loves dolls.

Power: Water 'puppets'.

Name: Tim.

Appearance: (But obviously a little older. The other picture...which was PERFECT...doesn't work. *Sulk.*)
Personality: 'Class rep' type, irritated easily, and comes off cold and sarcastic sometimes. However, he doesn't complain when it comes to helping people.

Power: Freezing. ( I know...unoriginal but my brain exploded.)

Jess walked down the hall at school, it had been two days sense her and the rest of the class had gotten back into town and she was being unusuealy moody. She was on her way to her locker, it was the end of the day and she jst wanted to get her stuff and get home. While she walked, a little quicker then normal she wasn't looking where she was going and bumped into someone.

Tim was pulling his text books from his locker, when something bumped right into him, knocking one of them out of his hand. Sighing impatiently, he moved to pick up the fallen text book, then rounded on Jess. "Watch-" he started. Then he frowned, vaguely recognizing her from the trip. Well, he'd seen her around school, as well, but hadn't spoken to her before.
"Jess...is it?" he asked. "Could you not run right into me?" The last part was added in a grumble, and he closed his locker, pulling his bag up onto his shoulder, and turning away from her.

Personality: Rai is mysterious. Nobody knows anything about him, not only because they are afraid to ask, but also because if they did he would merely ignore them.

Rai grabbed his text book and walked out of the classroom as the bell rang loudly.
Finally a free period he thought to himself. When he finally reached his locker and practically threw his text book inside instead to pull out his new book: "Playing with water."
Little did he know water was going to become a major obstacle in his life.

Tami sighed as the bell rang, she waited patiently as the rest of the students walked out of the room untill she finally could talk to the professor alone.
"Sir.." she mumbeled quietly as the teacher looked up expectantally, " Well I was thinking remeber when you suggested I should become part of the swimming team? Well... I think I would like to give it a try, are there still tryouts on tomorrow?" She asked, it had only been a week ago when the professor had suggested she join the swimming team, after he sawn her swimming laps on a school holiday.
The professpor looked up and smiled, "Yes definately. I am sure you would be a great new member for the team.... Anyway I've got to go." he said as he grabbed his book and quickly trotted out of the room.
Tami smiled "Goodbye Sir." she called out to him as she began to walk down the corridor.

Jess sighed and kept walking, unintionly walking with Tim. She looked over at him and smiled softly. "Uhm T-Tim... Have you been feeling weird sense we got back?..." She asked him in a soft whisper looking at people and waving to the ones she knew.

"Weird how?" Tim asked, sounding bored. He kept his head down as he asked the question. Was she making fun of him? Did she somehow know strange things had been happening around him? He glanced sideways at her, and saw she had that same look in her own eyes. He frowned. "...Have you felt weird since we got back?"
Idiot! he scolded himself. There's no way she's going to say yes...She's just messing with me! He sped up slightly, making his way to the exit.

Jess nodded, "Yeah... Its really weird." She heard the bell ring and jumped a little. She looked after Tim and quickly grabbed his sleeve gently looking up at him with soft eyes. "Hey... Uhm could we walk together. I kinda need to talk to you" She asked him looking around trying to be quiet as people came out of the class rooms.

Tim raised his eyebrows at her, but saw the almost desperation in her eyes. Was she being genuine? Had something strange really happened to her, as well? "Fine," he sighed. "But this better not be a joke." His tone was firm, but the look in his eyes had softened a bit.
He walked out of the school in silence, Jess right beside him. Once they reached the street, however, he looked at her curiously again. "So...What happened to you?" he asked. "You were asking me because I got stuck on that island too, aren't you?...No one else who was there seems to be worrying about anything, though. I guess they'd feel as though everyone would call them crazy if they did show anything..." His voice trailed off as he realized he was referring to himself.

"Heh yeah..." She bit her lip nervously looking around to make sure no one was areound to hear her. "Nothing weird has been happening around you has it?" She asked.
When he asked what happened to her she looked at her feet hiding her face in her hair, "Uhm... Well, ok dont think I'm crazy but.... I was working on my dads boad yesterday and... This dolphin came out of the water right next to the dock..." She looked around again then got closer to Tim and whispered, "I think it was trying to comunicat with me. I heard... A voice, in my head." She saw the look on his face and quickly tried to defend herself, "I'm not crazy."

Tim raised his eyebrows slightly. "You're saying the dolphin spoke to you?" he repeated, his voice monotone. "If the voice was in your head, it was probably just your imagination. Don't worry about it...But..." He stopped himself.
If Jess was telling the truth, she had been honest with him at the risk of sounding crazy. "Actually...Yeah..." he admitted quietly. "For a few days now...whenever I get angry, water seems to freeze. I know it's probably just a coincidence, but it's weird. And it killed my fish." He looked away from her, a little irritated.
And, at that moment, a few raindrops began to fall. He looked up at the sky. "C'mon lets hurry. I don't want to get caught up in all this."

Jess nodded but as she turned to take a step a drop of rain fell on her shoulder, suddenly she felt weird. She looked down at her legs that felt like they they were being stuck by thousands of needles over and over again, starting at her hips and going down to the tips of her toes. All of a sudden she fell over with a thud, "OUCH! What the..." She trailed off when she looked down at her legs, or at least where her legs should have been. Instead of legs she had a long beautiful tail. Quickly she looked up at Tim fear all over her face, "T-Tim?..." She said her voice shaking.

Tim stopped when he realized Jess was no longer walking with him, and turned. "What's-" he started. But, what he saw next forced his question to die in his throat. He took a step back when she called out his name. "Is this...some kind of joke?" he whispered suspiciously...But, how could it be? She had just sprouted a tail! Taking another step back, he seriously considered running away.
But, before he could, the door of the house they were outside opened. "Oi! Get her in here now!" a voice called out to them.
Tim looked over to see one of their classmates, Emily standing just inside her house, looking as though she was too afraid to come out.
"Hurry!" she urged.
"But...she's..." Tim tried to protest. He couldn't ignore the desperation and fear in Jess's eyes, though. So, he knelt down, and lifted her off the ground, stumbling slightly as he carried her towards the house. Her tail made her twice as heavy. But...could he really trust Emily? What if she just wanted to trap Jess in her house so she could call someone to dissect her? The way she was shying away from the rain was odd, though.
Emily slammed the door closed behind them quickly, letting out a sigh of relief.

Appearance:
Personality: Calm and friendly, but says things that make her look stupid and doesn't know much about anything. She cares more about her friends than what's going on around her.
Tail color: Ocean Blue (like the colour of the dress in the picture)
Power: she can turn water into anything she wants but it will only last for a day or so.


Heather walked out of the class and started running through the school grounds and crashed into two people she'd seen on the trip and as the rain began to fall she crashed to the floor, "Holy cheese and fries, I'm so sorry!" she called as she sat on the floor still unaware that she'd got a tail "Here let me help you get up" she said as she tried to stand up, but then realised that she couldn't get up. "I think I'm st..." she began and then she looked at her legs "Holy cheese and fries I'm half sushi" she mumbled half to herself.

When they got into the house and Tim set her down Jess looked around fear running through her body, "What... What the hell is happening??" She asked looking up at Emily then at Tim, who was just staring at the tale in fear. Jess blushed, she almost felt naked, he tank top had torn when she had fallen and it was now only covering her cheast not her stomich. "S-stop looking at me!" She squealed throwing a pillow at him hitting him in the face.

"Hey!" Tim protested, straightening his glassed. "How can I not look...You just..." His voice trailed off, and as his eyes left her tail, he realized he could see her stomach. Blushing, he turned away.
Emily rolled her eyes, then knelt beside Jess, giving her a kind smile. "Don't worry," she told her soothingly. "It will go away soon...The same thing happened to me this morning when I tried to get in the shower. I was so freaked out I stayed home from school...I have...no idea why this is happening though. I'm guessing this hasn't happened to you before now, judging from the look on your face."
"Can I say something?" Tim asked, keeping his back to them.
"No," Emily shot at him, before he even got to finish. She turned her attention back to Jess.

Jess looked at Emily and tried to smiled but it was just a thin line, "H-how am I not going to worry. I JUST TURNED INTO PART FISH!" She looked around and then she suddenly got that prickely feeling again, the tail flapped once and then her legs were back, quickly she grabed a blanket and wrapped it around her waist blushing even more.
"M-maybe I ate some bad shrimp last night... Yeah thats totaly it. And and now I'm dreaming, You two aren't really here!" SHe stood up and paced back and fowrth. No that theory doesn't work... I didn't eat shrimp last night. She sighed heavily and flopped back down onto the couch. "What is this...." She whispered to herself.

Emily stood up when Jess returned to normal. She, herself wasn't as calm as she appeared. "You're not dreaming," she muttered. "I don't know what's going on, either...But it's happening." She usually knew what to say to calm people down. But not this time.
Tim still kept his back to them, knowing he'd get another pillow to the face if he turned around. As he glanced out of the window, he saw someone else out in the street. They seemed as though they were unable to stand. "You have got to be kidding me..." he muttered, as he rushed out to see yet another girl with a...tail. It's raining mermaids today, he thought, as he approached her. "Um...Hey...How's it going?" he asked as he knelt down to pick her up. Damn it those tails were heavy! At least he didn't feel as afraid this time...This girl hadn't just transformed right in front of him, and, now that he'd seen it once, it wasn't...as...Who was he kidding? It was the freakiest thing he had ever seen!
"We got another one," he grumbled as he entered the house.
Emily looked up, her eyes narrowing in confusion. "Another?...Why..."

Jess looked outside then when Tim brought in another girl she sat back, "What is this a party or something??" She said to herself. She looked up at Emily and sighed, "So what we cant ever get wet again? No showers? No swiming? Does this mean I can't fish with dad anymore? No more scuba diving??" She had started to spaz out a little and it probably was not a good idea because she stopped thinking clearly. She threw her hand back and it accidently hit the whindow unlocking the latch sending it fflying up. As she tried to close the whindow a big gust of wind blew through blowing thousands of little droplets of water in on all of them.

Emily held up her hands, trying to get Jess to calm down. "Well...We don't know all that for sure," she tried to tell her, glancing over at the other mermaid again. What was going on? Was Jess right? "Wouldn't...wouldn't this just make scuba diving even better?" she tried to point out.
But, at that moment, Jess had accidentally opened the window, and she felt a few raindrops on her face. "Oh...damn it..." she whispered as, a few seconds later, that pain in her legs started again, and she fell forwards onto the floor, her tail flopping uselessly behind her.
Tim stared at the three mermaids, deciding this really was a dream. Oh God...What sort of person am I if I'm having dreams like this?! he thought. And, just as he was about to lower Heather to the floor, he felt a pain in his own legs, and frowned. He couldn't balance anymore. He had hit the floor before he knew what was happening.
Emily couldn't help laughing, despite her own situation. "Oh! Brilliant!" she cried out, thoroughly amused. "That's just...fantastic!"
Tim buried his face in the carpet. WHY?
