Paper House : The Game of Nightmares

Will you be able to play through the game, make it out before the end of the night and face all your worst nightmares.. most of all... do you know what you can trust... and what you can't? 

 

Storyline/Plot

You're throwing a small house party, and your parents are away. The only people that are going to be there is you, 3 friends and your 2 cousins. So there are 6 of you to begin with. 

You decide you need a game to play, so go into the town and look for something to play. You find a rather interesting game, in nothing but a plain white box.

You get the game home, and you're going to play it.

 

The Game 

 

First of all, you open the box. Inside the box, there is a paper house that you must build. The house has 4 levels and a turret. Your character piece is a paper doll, in which you draw your face and clothes. Then on a small square of paper, each person has to draw their worst nightmare. Then you place it in a room. 

 

Now you place the Shadow Man, the Creeper (A Wolf) and the Lurker (A Snake) in the house. All the paper house. All the paper doll pieces must start in the pantry. Then you are to read the Oath out which means you agree to play, knowing the risks and accept that the game is real.

 

Finally you each draw a card, and each one says something different, it might be like a fortune cookie style message, or a small poem. None of it is really relevant! Now you've read your oath, the game begins, you've all just blanked out and awakened in the pantry of the paper house. This is a test to see if you can battle out your worst nightmares, and make it to the top to escape... or whether you will be consumed by your own fear, and you can loose and gain people you love along the way...depending on your fear. 

 

You have to battle each nightmare, to find the door, which will only appear once you have overcome your nightmare... The Shadow Man is dangerous and tricky. The Lurker and The Creeper will also try to trick you. 

 

HOWEVER: If you get hurt in the game, you get hurt for real. Die in the paper house, and you're dead. You won't come back. The corridors can trick you, and not all the rooms are safe to go in, some could have evil creatures behind them... or more corridors... or mirrors... you won't know until you open it!

RP RULES

 

1. This is a game based RP, meaning that once the RP has begun, there will be no way for others to join... I do apologise. Also, I would prefer it if you asked before you joined, and do that through PM not through the thread, as it spams it. 

2. Standard EC RP rules apply. 

3. No Godmodding, no one has superpowers, you're not invicible. 

4. There are no Vampire/werewolf/angel/princess characters... unless your nightmare involves one of them, but obviously, they will only be in it briefly, you can not just have that character. 

5.If you want to be The Shadow Man, Lurker or Creeper, please PM me and we will sort that out. 

6. I would limit it, to about 2/3 characters each, that way we can have a few people joining in. 

7. Please do not have your character needing to be saved all the time... obviously this is a danger/adventure based Rp, so it is encouraged, but it will suck if you need saving all the time. 

8. If you want a bit of romance, fine, don't go overboard, and remember, that 3 of the characters will be related.

9. Also, if it's someone's nightmare, don't ruin their plot twist, each character will have their turn at the plot being altered around them...so wait your turn.

10. If you no longer want to be apart of the Rp, Kill your characters off.

Bio: She is somewhere in between quiet and loud, she doesn't get in peoples faces, but her friends mean a lot to her. she is adventureous and is generally happy with things. 

Other: Layla is the one throwing the party and bought the game. 

 

Layla had been getting the house ready for her party, she'd constructed the paper house and coloured it in. She'd set out character pieces for everyone and put a piece of paper out so they could draw their nightmare. Layla sat on the sofa, looking out the window, waiting for her guests to arrive.

Name: Hikari.

Age: 20.

Relationship to Main Character: Cousin.

Apperance: 

Bio: Despite being the older twin, he is often mistaken for being the younger. He is carefree and hides from responsibilities. Order and organization mean nothing to him.

 

Name: Yami.

Age: 20.

Relationship to Main Character: Cousin. 

Apperance: 

Bio: He is calm and level headed, and often acts as a peacemaker when people are getting out of hand.

 

"Yamiii~!" Hikari whined as he dragged himself up to the front door. "We're half an hour early."

Yami rolled his eyes in mock impatience as he watched his brother rest his head against the door frame. "You're going to fall inside when she opens it," he pointed out, ignoring the complaint. Then he knocked on the door, leaving it up to his brother whether he moved or not. Logic failed him when he was bored, though, so he doubted it.

Name-Katana Hinamori
Age- 19

Relationship- Friend of Layla

Personality- Katana is fierce. He's from the streets. He doesn't take attitude from anybody, friend or enemy. He dresses dark and is mean to keep people at a distance. Secretly, though, Katana is afraid of being hurt, and yearns for love.

Fear- Being hated by Kit.

Other- Katana is a heavy smoker and doesn't care who sees him smoking, he also likes to drink. For him it doesn't matter if he is at a party or all alone, he still drinks and smokes.

Name-Kittsumi Hinamori (Kit for short)

Age- 19

Relationship- Friend of Layla

Personality-never complains. Kit never wants to know what's really going on. Ask a favor of Kit, she won't say a thing, and probably will ignore you. Does she have startling opinions or shocking secrets? Nobody knows. Kit keeps it all inside.
Fear- Being left alone by Katana, and never finding him.
Other-She is Katana's twin sister, she doesn't smoke, but she does drink sometimes with him.

 

 

Name- Jessica Anna Sterling goes by Jess

Age- 18

Relationship- Friend of Layla

Personality- Sweet, caring. She doesn't care what people think of her, but she will stand up for what she believes in. She is probably one of the most loving persons you will ever know. If someone is in trouble she will try her best to help them.

Background- Jess’s mother died when she was six and she lived with her father for almost two year. He Began to drink after his wife's sudden death and when he got drunk he would hit Jess. She was finally convinced to move out by a friend and now lives with them.

Fear- The dark, or rather, what may be hiding in the dark that she can not see.

Other- Lives with Katana and Kit.

 

Kit, Katana, and Jess were on their way to Layla's house, Kit was excited; she hadn't seen Layla in a while and she was also excited to see Yami. Layla knew Kit thought Yami was cute, that was probably the reason she invited Katana, Kit, and Jess.

 

Katana could see how excited Kit was and shook his head. He didn't like the thought of Kit dating, or even liking someone, especially someone they knew; it was just weird. "Don't act so excited.." He said gruffly, "Don't want pretty boy to catch on do ya?" He smiled when Kit hit is shoulder lightly then looked over at Jess. "You've been rather quiet, what you thinkin about?" But before she could answer Katana was pulling the car into the driveway of Layla's house.

 

Jess smiled getting out of the car and looking up at the house, she always loved Layla's house, it always had a cool feeling to it. She quickly grabbed her purse from the back seat and then shut the door and made her way up the drive with the twins.

Hikari pulled his head away from the door when he heard the sound of a car approaching, and waved frantically when he saw Jess get out and start up the drive way towards them, almost hitting his brother in his enthusiasm.

Yami took one step to the side, out of reach, and smiled at the others as well. "Being early is popular today," he commented quietly.

Layla got up from where she'd been sat and opened the door, and saw everyone stood on her porch. "Hey guys!" she said excitedly and hugged them all each in turn and welcomed them into her house. As they all came through the door she turned to them. 

"Now before we begin the nights activities, does anyone want anything to drink?" she asked and stood there waiting for them to reply.

Bio:  Loves to have a good time. Very extroverted, and loves meeting new people and making Friends.

Fear: Letting people down/ his own failures

Other:  Lucas is new in Town, and Layla is his only friend here. When She invited him to the party, he thought it would be a good chance to meet some new people, thus why he came.

 

Lucas drives up to the address that Layla told him. He arrived just to see a bunch of people walk through the door. I must be in the right place he thought. He gets out of his car, and walks up to the door and hits the bell.

Layla jumped as she heard the door, and went and opened it. Seeing it was Lucas she smiled and gave him a massive hug. "Yay, you made it! Just in time, we're just making drinks then going to start the party!" She said excitedly, pulling at his arm and pulling him through the door and closing it behind him "guys, this is Lucas!" She explained to the guests whom were already there.

Lucas returns Layla's hug with a smile. he turns to the gathered party and says, "Hey guys, how's it going."

Katana and Kit were talking to the others and Jess had been talking to Layla when the last guest drove up. As soon as he said hello to them Jess could feel her face going red. She greeted him warmly smiling and telling him her name, then sort of disapearing into the croude to breath a little.

 

Kit and Katana turned toward the new comer at the same time and both smiled and extended their arms, so in sync you could have thought they were robots. But only twins could be that in tuned with each other.

Katana shool the boys hand first and introduced himself and his sister.

"Jess, Katana, Kit. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Lucas smiled. They seemed friendly enough. He was just excited to get out of the house a little, and hang out with some friends.

"So Lucas, how long have you and our lovely hostess known each other?" Jess asked emerging from the kitchen holding a beer in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other. She looked over at Layla and smiled sheepishly as cheese dangled from the pizza and onto her arm.

"Not real long" Lucas Responded. "I just moved here about a month and a half ago, and Layla was my first friend here."

Layla smiled at them as she went into the kitchen. She got out her mothers serving tray and put monster, beer, and various snacks. "Everyone just help yourselves" she added. She'd thrown plenty of parties in the past, but this one had a completely different vibe about it.

"Thanks" Lucas smiled at Layla. He grabbed a Coors off the tray, popped the top off, and proceeded to take a drink out of it.

Layla smiled in response, and grabbed a can of monster, opening it and taking a big mouthful. "Now, how about we get this thing started?... we all know how much fun a good game can be, and truth be told, I don't know much about this game. It was intriguing and made me want to play it. Who's up for it?" She asked with a grin as she took another mouthful of her drink. She hoped they'd be up for it. Games at parties usually ended up being more fun than they could have thought.

Lucas smiled "Sure I'm down." He sits down on the couch and waits for the activities to start.

Jess smiled and plopped down onto the floor, "Yeah a game sounds cool with me!" She said smiling at Kit and Katana who were standing there munching on snacks.

 

Kit and Katana looked at each other for a moment, sometimes it was almost as if you could see little bolts of electricity flowing from one to the other, with their connection. After a few moments the both smiled and looked back at Layla.

"Sure.." Katana said as he popped a cheese puff into his mouth.

"Why not!" Kit exclaimed happily almost instantly after Katana had spoken.
