Hey guys, need some help with some coding issues of mine, seeing as I'm fairly rusty when it comes to HTML and CSS (everything self taught, really). What I would like is to have an image pop up on the side of my blog and remain permanently there, even when you scroll down the page.

I've been smart enough to inquire the internet first to see if I can find the coding for it to insert within my theme, and these were the links that I found:

http://smallbusiness...mblr-63120.html <-- This one didn't work at all and only made a broken image pop up on the top, left corner of my theme. At first I thought it was because I had uploaded the image I wanted to use as a side image on Photobucket.. so I then proceeded to uploading it on Imgur and, just in case, Tinypic. But nope, it kept giving me a broken image link in the same spot, which was weird. I was super elated when I found this tutorial as well, seeing as it was very simple to apply to the coding of your theme and to modify. Sigh.

http://-apple.tumblr...ackground-image <-- This one did the same as the above link. Got super frustrated.

http://themesmadebya...-theme-includes <-- So I found this theme's coding whilst I was searching, and noticed that her theme had the option to upload a transparent image for the side of the theme (the heart image, as seen in the theme preview). So I looked through the html/CSS of her theme. This was the coding I found:

Now, I inserted the meta html with the other meta tags and the div html with the other div htmls, but it worked out quite poorly. (Btw this is not the way the html was arranged in the theme, the meta html was with the meta ones and the div html was with the div ones). Apparently the div html on it's own doesn't work, only the meta one seems to somewhat "function" with it and this is a bit what it looks like:

Before uploading an image.

As you guys have noticed, the option to upload a transparent image has popped up, but it has added a big, white block under my default picture. And I don't even know why this is occuring. I tried changing the place where I put the div html, but it continues to do the same thing, no matter what.

This is what is looks like after uploading a transparent image to it:

It adds it both under my sidebar image and under it. I have absolutely no clue why this is happening and I managed to stay up until 3 am in the morning trying to figure this sorcery out, to no avail. I don't know why it adds a second sidebar to my theme and places the image behind my default, it doesn't make sense. If any of you have an extensive knowledge when it comes to coding, please help me. I've searched for so long online this morning to see if I could find any other helpful tutorial, even on Youtube, but nothing.

Sorry for the long post and thank you very much for helping me out!
