I still haven't written anything new, but Stars & Broken Guitars' most recent post in The Hangout reminded me of this one I wrote. This isn't so much a poem as a poetical outpour.

QUOTE
A heart perfectly pieced together, a puzzle formed without spaces between the pieces, yet formed from a shattered heart. One cannot begin to understand the complexity within. No one will see the cracks still there on the inside, although they continually decrease. Yet, the only way to know inside is to be told by someone who has been there.

How deep do you want to go?

Twists and turns, all around inside one will find crevices never expected. Filled with haunting emotions torn thin the cracks become whole as love creeps in. To risk being damaged further is a must. The only remedy is unconditional leaving only the option of success or failure. The outside appears whole, what matter is it what becomes of the inside. Lest one live in hypocrisy and self inflicted anguish forever the pain within has much more leverage. The price to be paid is faith or risk, let each decide for himself.

Is it worth the pain of a deeper crevice in the heart, to have the chance to fill what once was there?

Blood pours out with each new abyss. To see a whole heart one must look beyond the natural visage of beauty portrayed by each individual. For no man has a heart whole of his own. Rather the Creator heals the heart of all pain and suffering solacing the perfection intended. The conclusion being to heal the heart of each agonizing line and imperfection embedded so deep within requires more than any man may give. Hope is not lost as one must understand the unconditional love which abounds in the Creator. When into the heart this is poured a perfect healing is developed which can be augmented by displaying the same unconditional love to those of natural heart. Although man will continue to cut deep into his heart unbeknownst to himself, the Creator will once again restore life to his soul.

Where is the defense against such natural agony?

The peace of the Creator, which goes above and beyond anything one may ever comprehend, is a shield of highest strength: unsurpassable, impenetrable, of infinite value. This shield enwraps the heart and soul of those born of water and fire to protect eternally the perfection of the whole heart. Casting risk to the wind only faith remains.

Welcome to the land of the beating hearts.
