Tim slid down the wall and onto the floor. He didn't care how weak he seemed right now, he didn't even care that Jo would be furious with him for giving up...All he wanted was for everything to go back to the way it had been before all of this.

Jo watched Tim slump but said nothing. She wasn't feeling too perky herself. Everything had been ruined, now all she had left was to go back to the government, serve her punishment and continue with her previous life.

"We have to stop this," Tim said suddenly, as though he had read her mind. "If Nathek wants to fight...then we'll fight. And if we win, it might get us some respect...People might want to help us."

"So what? If we fight and he dies, then what? What are we even fighting for? The suitcase was empty." Jo said.

"We're fighting to not get killed," Tim replied incredulously. "For the slightest chance of freedom...We can't just give up!"

"This is the real world, kid. This freedom you're fighting for, it doesn't exist." Jo said, turning away from Tim.

"Oh...so you're saying we should just give up?" Tim whispered impatiently.

"If you want to go kill yourself that's fine by me." Jo muttered.

Tim glared at Jo.
"Maybe I should," he mumbled. "You've got your government to go back to."
He turned and walked out of the warehouse, not paying attention to anything around him.

Jo curled up and buried her face in her knees. She had nothing left, that was the point. She couldn't go back to the government. Not now.

As Tim walked through the wreckage, oblivious to everything around him, he tried to push all thoughts of Jo and Nathek out of his mind.
He knew he wouldn't last long on his own, and he had left the sword back at the warehouse, but he continued to walk, ignoring the fear that was building up inside him.

Tim stopped and sat down on a half demolished wall. He picked up a small, crumpled piece of paper from the wreckage and, using his own blood for ink, he started to write a note: Jo, I've decided to take your advice. Goodbye, and good luck with whatever you decide to do. I'm sorry, I wasn't strong enough to help you after all.
He read and re-read the note as he walked back to the warehouse.
Silently, he approached Jo and left the note next to her. Then he went back outside.

Jo looked at the note. She crumpled it and stood up. Walking into the horizon.

Tim finally came to a deep, fast flowing river. A tear rolled down his face as he realized that this was it...At least he would get to be with his family.
He took a deep breath and jumped, instantly feeling pain shoot through his body as he hit the rocks. But that pain was soon taken over by panic as he became submerged in the water.
A while passed before the final bubbles escaped his mouth and he sank into unconsciousness.
